The building is nice , the garden is great - however the amenities as advertised are fake. No ice in the icebox on the floor as advertised, in fact its nevver been plugged in, no pool available as outlined and detailed in the brochure and in the welcome video. No Lunch in the restaurant is not available but the welcome...

This hotel is a traditional Chinese hotel in a typical Suzhou setting with gardens. It was originally built by the communist party to receive out of country state dignitaries and high ranking Chinese officials when visiting Suzhou. Since that time it has become a popular inexpensive hotel for tourists and visitors to the Suzhou University "old" campus. It is a...

The single room is okay and the bed is big enough. Though the decoration of the room is not really up to par but still acceptable by considering the price. The lobby and public area are quite good, especially they have outdoor area that built like traditional Suzhou style garden and pond. Perhaps, the only complaint I have would be...

Stayed here for one night as part of a tour package, The hotel needs work, very outdated furniture, bed was hard and the smell of the cigarettes in our "nonsmoking room" was unbearable. Staff was friendly , location good.

One night stay review. We were very satisfied about this hotel. Nice lobby, beautiful and clean room and bathroom, shower in bath with good water pressure. Lots of lighting in the room, in room safe, and coffee and tea making facilities. Good mattress. Very quiet at night. Breakfast was a treat, lots of items to choose from, egg station ...good coffee...

The standard double room looks small and dark we were given. We upgraded ourselves to a suite, which overlooks to the garden within the hotel complex. This is a much better room with a huge sitting area and much brighter. Of course it also costed much more. Our rating would be much lower, if we had stayed in the standard...

The room was initially impressive but soon you notice details such as no drawers for clothes, a loose bathtub faucet that has clearly been used as a grab bar (because there is no grab bar), a very strange glass window that lets your roommate look at you bathing (it does have a shade), and a stuffy overheated atmosphere. The breakfast...

The place is located in old part of Suzhou, which by old standard, what really Suzhou is. The old city is not big. In fact you can get anywhere on feet. Of course it would be great if you can get your hands on a bicycle. One great thing about this hotel is that it has a huge courtyard, hence...

I never stayed in this hotel for long but only for night outs when I couldn't find any other place in Suzhou. They used to charge around 150 for a night, from 12-8. And u get a very nice sweet sound sleep. Later I just rushed to work and that's all I did there. The breakfast buffet is fine, but...

It was our 3rd stay at 南林飯店. The hotel is facing 十全街 with many small shops and eateries, and walking distance to beautiful 滄浪亭 Canglangting and 網師園 Wangshiyuan. Convenience store 全力 is in 3 min walk distance. The hotel has a pretty Chinese gardens. A small path along a small canal between the hotel and 十全街 is very nice to...
