The Asbury mashes up Asbury Park's Victorian-era history, rock-n-roll present, and shiny future into a new kind of social hub. Inside The Asbury, a happening lobby will become the action-filled center of the hotel with everything designed for perpetual motion. The front desk and check-in doubles as The Counter, a grab-and-go kitchen where guests can fetch keys, order coffee, or buy something from the retail store. A ground-floor lounge will become Asbury Park's rec room, with ping-pong, board games and a communal table for travelers. A quintet of venues will make The Asbury a compulsive hangout for guests, locals, and visitors, consisting of Soundbooth, a casual lobby bar, Salvation, a rooftop bar with stunning views of the town and ocean, The Baronet, rooftop garden, theater and concert venue, and Beergarden, featuring authentic food and beer trucks. The hotel also features a flexible indoor/outdoor event space unlike any other on the Jersey Shore.

The Asbury Hotel is lauded for its excellent location, close to the beach and local attractions. Guests admire the cleanliness and the vibrant atmosphere, accentuated by live music and unique decor, though some find it a tad noisy.
While the heated pool and pet-friendly policy are popular, there's a sense that rooms are overpriced and lacking in comfort and amenities, with additional fees like valet parking adding to guests' concerns. Service quality receives mixed feedback, with commendations for staff friendliness but criticisms for occasional inattentiveness.

Detailed Reviews
Our family (kids were 10, 15, 17, 18) stayed here for a quick one night stay. We had a king room and a room with two sets of bunks. Rooms were near each other, but not connected. We enjoyed the bunk room set up allowing each kid to have their own bunk bed. The bunks were big and comfortable even for our adult sized kids. The rooms were thoughtfully set up with charging ports all over the place, bunk room had shower and toilets in separate bathrooms, etc. Rooms are tiny but typical size for the shore. The location of the hotel is perfect to walk to the beach, boardwalk, dinner. Pool area was really wonderful with bar and food menu available. There was a pool table in the large lobby area that the kids enjoyed and also plenty of room for those not playing to lounge. Other reviewers have complained about the valet parking and add on fees, but we felt those fees were clearly stated at the time of booking. Valet parking staff were awesome and we drove them crazy constantly going to the car to put beach gear in and out. Front desk staff and pool staff were all very kind and helpful. This is a perfect hotel for a family, couples or ladies trip. Note that if you don’t like dogs, this is a pet friendly hotel. Our youngest is very much NOT into dogs and she was fine, but there were for sure a bunch of small dogs around.

I had a nice stay at the Asbury this December. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The vibe of the hotel was quite cool for New Jersey with trendy decor in the bar, co-working space, and cafe in the lobby. There was plenty of space to hang out or do work which was great. The rooms were clean, modern and spacious. My only complaint is the room rate was quite expensive, particularly for off-season in December and they really didn't clean my room. I know cleaners came in as the toilet seat was lifted each day upon my return, but outside of that, there was no evidence that the room was cleaned. The bed remained unmade, the towels were not replaced, and the garbage was not emptied. I found this upsetting given the price that I paid for the room and seeing as I stayed 3-nights and didn't once use the do-not disturb sign. Otherwise, great hotel.

Thank you for your thoughtful review! We’re so happy to hear that you enjoyed the atmosphere, the staff, and the spacious, modern room during your stay. It’s wonderful to know that our lobby spaces were perfect for both relaxation and work. We deeply apologize for the housekeeping issues you experienced. This is certainly not the standard we aim to provide, and we understand your frustration, especially given the length of your stay and the rate you paid. We will be addressing this with our team to ensure that this does not happen again in the future. Thank you again for your feedback and for choosing to stay with us. We truly hope to welcome you back for an even better experience next time.

Asbury Hotel has been awarded the number 10 spot in the mid-atlantic region in travel + leisure's esteemed world’s best awards, but that doesn’t surprise me because everyone there tries to accommodate the guests.Antonio at check-in was very courteous and tried to get us into our room quickly. Mahjustice, also at front desk dealt with housekeeping issue was pleasant and eager to please. This was our second booking for the first week of August. Chakera a familiar face at front desk, her hospitality is very rare to find and unmistakably why management should value her as a big part of their team. Chakera from our prior visit to this one went far and beyond to extend her appreciation for our return visit. Josh the bar keeper at the pool, as last time kept me laughing and us hydrated. The new staff that we got to meet. Amanda and Theresa the other bartenders, were always happy to replenish the drinks, also fill doggie bowls with water and ice. Pets are welcomed at the poolside, but cannot swim in the pool. For the other staff at the pool, Cynthia with an infectious smile even on a rainy day at the pool made us smile. Nicole who shared the love for one of my favorite musicians Stevie Nicks and how her name should have been Rhiannon and Jaidyn with a personality that made her shine like the sun.We also want to thank everyone else at the hotel that we did not mention.A few things changed since last time. A gym has been added on the second floor. New lounge chairs, umbrellas and for a charge daybeds and cabanas can be rented at the pool. A food truck at the pool has a nice choice of food as well. The pool has underwater music and is heated on cooler days. The rooms are not spacious, no telephones or coffee makers very simple and yet very comfortable. They are designed carefully for pet friendly stay with vinyl floor; no bells and whistles. Asbury Park does not have any shortage of restaurants or entertainment. Our biggest complaint in the morning which can be easily rectified, there was no free flowing coffee in the lobby. For early risers like my husband and I, we would have appreciated a fresh cup of coffee before heading out to the beach to watch the sunrise (weather permitting) and walk the boardwalk before it got too hot. We hope Asbury Hotel continuously strives to increase their standards and not just their rate.If you are looking for a hotel near a beach that is family oriented and welcomes your furry family members, Ashbury Hotel is the place for you to stay.

Beware! We just got married and spent the weekend in the panoramic sweet in the Asbury hotel and I had booked my room block there. I had a few unfortunate and unsavory experiences during my stay with you. There were some issues with the room blocks that I had to intervene and mention that they were in fact giving better rates to people who went through Google than through my room block which they hold you 90% financially accountable/responsible for any rooms within your block that aren’t taken and paid for you yourself will have to pay for in the end. The room block issues were rectified by Nicole before our arrival which we grately appreciated. I again experienced another issue later on upon check in where the valet was extremely rude to my husband on the weekend of our wedding that we booked with you and I was very displeased to find out the valet is a third party and not much could be done. We were disrespected by him and had little to no help with our things loading or them holding the door open for us to get our things into the lobby for check in. It was upsetting struggling up the ramp with them not opening doors for us while lugging our luggage in etc. The only thing they could do was remove the parking fee which didn’t seem like enough for the level of discomfort and disrespect we were shown and how disappointed and dissatisfied we were coming away from that experience. Additionally, I spent THOUSANDS of dollars on a photo and video team that had a hard time doing our photo shoot in our panoramic suite room at the Asbury due to the massive pile of dirt that wasn’t mentioned at all in the process of booking which was a horrifically unsightly thing to look at in the background of all of our shots on top of that disgusting yellow streaks ran down all the windows obstructing most of the shots of the views in the background I am extremely dissatisfied. We were charged a resort amenities fee and there were no sinks other than the bathroom and no microwave in the rooms I found it to be severely lacking in resort like amenities especially with the lack of the usual things like the complimentary coffee in the lobby in the mornings etc. I travel with my fiancé often and stay at all sorts of beautiful resorts and hotels and what we experienced no newlywed should have to go through. The Panoramic sweet was way too over priced for the level of cleanliness and upkeep they put into it. I highly recommend you don’t book your wedding room blocks here

The Asbury Park Hotel offers valet parking for $50 a day but neglects to tell you that on street parking via an app is $17 a day and very convenient. We found out about this when we asked if there was an area we could park ourselves.
Upon our arrival at the front desk, we did not feel welcomed. Our room was not ready and the aloof girl at the front desk said she couldn’t check us in until it was. (this policy and her attitude surely could use modification.)
She then sent us to wait by the pool but forgot to tell us that the gate required a room key (which of course we did not have)
The rooms are not cleaned daily but you may request a refresh of towels, etc daily which I did. No one came the next day so I had to call for towels and toilet paper .
Again a very slow response so we went to the beach. A maintenance person came at 5:00 PM that evening when we were showering for dinner

It was a lovely hotel. On the outside. I spent most of my time at the pool and they had great menus and a great service. But comfortability level…the room had this constant feeling of humidity and dampness from the first day we walked in. We hoped it would get better but didn’t. And the bed felt the same. The window was shut tight so we couldn’t open it for fresh air. The bed wasn’t too comfortable to sleep in (too hard for our backs) and for that we barely slept and I always woke up with back pain. Not a great room for someone that needs to work in either. So we left and stayed out as much as we could. Yes everything was clean, the staff was helpful, the barista and bartenders did a great job, even the food was delicious. Honestly didn’t care for the live music, but my boyfriend loved the pool table lol. The location is the best part because it was close to everything, either a quick ride to downtown (Cookman Ave) or walk around the boardwalk or local restaurants and the concert venue. Honestly didn’t even want to go to the beach because for me the hotel’s pool had everything I needed. Also, if you bring a car, there’s no free parking anywhere anytime…. Make sure you pay the Asbury meter on the app because they will ticket you. Very frustrating because the hotel offers valet, for $50, so… why would I pay $50 on the same street where I could either get a $50 ticket a day from Asbury town or pay less on the app? Either way, the valet has no benefits, there’s no garage….

I have stayed at the Asbury many times and the place has gone down hill. Lots of issues, first they forgot to text me when my room was ready, I got a sorry. Then when i went to my room and opened the closet I found dirty used bathrobes that hadn't been removed, I got a sorry. When I lied down on the bed I noticed about 10 lady bugs walking around on the ceiling. I didn't bother informing the hotel staff. Later I went to the pool where the Asbury always kept a good "party feel". No more DJ, now you need to reserve and pay for the cabana area, no more people parting in the pool, just a lot of kids. To make matters worse I walked in with a beer from my room (that's a beer, not a cooler, or a stock pile) and the bartender aggressively approached my and told me no glass or outside food and drinks. I told her I only had the one, and poured the beer into a plastic cup and threw the bottle away. She became confrontational, then insisted I leave the area immediately. I stood at the bar and finished my beer as she gave me dirty looks and called others over. I don't need to be confronted in a hostile manner when I'm on vacation! I went and found a chair, and the people next to me had order pizza deliverer to the pool. I didn't mind the pizza but I was quite pissed that their outside food was welcomed, so much so that the other guest shared some of the pizza with the pool staff. Another problem I discovered with the room was the shower, It looked fine but the water drained away very slowly, so when you shower your standing in dirty water. Just not what it use to be.

It was a great stay! I would very much recommend going, if that is all I had to say.
There were some complimentary towels, bathrobes, slippers, conditioners, shampoos, water, and even beach towels in the room which were wonderful to have.
The staff was more than friendly, patient, and understanding. I had some wonderful conversations with them, and had every question I had answered to the best of their ability. Not to mention that after clogging the toilet in our room, staff had it unclogged hastily.
The location is great, being a ~5 minute walk to the boardwalk and the beach, which is a great place to be, not having to park to go get a tan and see the waves.
The view from our room was a little disappointing, but we weren't in the room often enough to care. The bathroom also had some issues with a slanted shelf, which resulted in a couple things falling off it, the shower (even with instructions in the room) was confusing and always ranged from a little too hot to scolding, and the sink didn't drain properly.
But these issues were all easy to overlook, and I still recommend booking a trip there, but only if you can afford it, as this was very very pricey.

The hotel's location is great, and we enjoyed the live music in the lobby. Unfortunately, there were private events that went late on Thursday and Friday night with music/DJ. They were very loud in our room - literally making the room vibrate -- and our son couldn't sleep. The front desk suggested that we use ear plugs. The room was tiny, and the beds were uncomfortable. The AC unit made the room damp/humid and all of our clothes/belongings were damp by the end of the weekend. The room was not commensurate with the price.

We were very disappointed in the overall quality of the room, particularly since we were paying more than $700 a night for it. The shampoo container was completely empty and no hand soap was provided at all. The bathroom and closet doors do not stay open or closed, so you have to fight with them constantly, there were stains on the bathroom door, the drinking cups in the bathroom were visibly dirty, the in-room record player’s speakers were blown out, rendering it unlistenable, no blackout shade on the window where the sun comes up, and the people in the room next to us left their barking dog alone for many hours. We complained to hotel staff twice, but it never stopped. Also, the futon cushion doesn’t stay on the frame, so it’s mostly useless as a sofa. The furniture is generally pretty banged up. Broken window shades, etc. Pretty shabby for what we paid at almost $3k for the entire stay. And the air conditioner bangs loudly. Almost forgot about that. Staff was nice though. Location is great. And the common areas and amenities are nice. Management should really stay in the rooms as a guest and try all of the furniture, etc. It looks OK from a distance, but once you need to actually use something, it’s clear that everything is barely being held together.

Parking is a huge challenge during summer months. The Asbury offers valet parking at $50 per day, otherwise street parking ( of which there is alot) using the Asbury Park parkimg app at $2 an hour No specific hotel parking lot
We Valet parked at the hotel. I think it was 20$ per day. There is parking via an app, but It wasn't the same one I had downloaded and use on Long Island, so I didn't bother.
Not a lot. It didn't look like a kennel. In my night stay I saw 3
