We arrived the hotel out of season in November and we were well received by a friendly staff offering us a quiet and spacy room at the second floor. Breakfast was delicate with a tasty a jugo. Casa Isabella is located in an excellent area of the old quarter not far from Parque de Novias which are full of nice...

My husband and I stayed for our honeymoon and we LOVED it. We would totally go again. The hotel is beautiful and the entire staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast they offer is super delicious. The hotel is near the beach and "el parques de los novios." I have nothing bad to say because our experience here was just...

A present surprise once you go past the facade and enter the private oasis. Most friendly people we ever ran across while traveling in Colombia. We stayed here with my 3 teenage kids. We had 2 suites each with our own private pool and pateo. The staff were so kind and curteous. Always willing to help us and accommodate our...

We booked the suite with the private roof deck and lounge pool. It was awesome. The staff was amazing! Javier, Ana, Felipe, everyone. They were so friendly and helpful and cheerful. Honestly stood out as the warmest and most enjoyable stay of our trip so far. Breakfast was made to order and served in our room for us. Though we...

I am giving Casa de Isabella the full stars because of the service and the way they handled our issues. We booked this through hotels.com and selected a 2nd floor room based on other reviews. When we arrived here, we were given a ground floor room and told the other rooms were booked. I don't believe they ever received our...

The service was really good, breakfast options were amazing. The room was big, it was very pretty. Wifi and air conditioner worked perfectly. We stayed in the second floor. I recommended they cleaned the pool more, because of the amount of tiny leaves and bugs that kept falling in. But the room was clean, the terrace were breakfast was served...

The staff are absolutely top-notch. They assisted in every way, helping with taxis, organising tours, even simple things like recommendations for coffee, restaurants. The rooms are in the style of a boutique hotel - each room is individual and more like mini apartments. We had to move rooms at one point as we extended our stay, and moved up to...

Right from the entrance you could see is well kept. Really clean and well organized. The Hotel is sort of a boutique hotel with a fusion with nature (since it has trees right in the middle and the hotel is built around them) which makes it really cool. It looks modern but at the same time really colorful. Staff is...

Staff is so helpful- will help you plan logistics for any excursion, provide dining recommendations and even point you in the direction of the drug store. Big shout out to Juan and Jordy...

We reserved just a few days before we arrived, slurping on a suite because the price was so reasonable. It turned out to be amazing--large and with a surprise private roof deck with a plunge pool. The view of the sunset from the roof was spectacular. The only drawback is that there is a open metal mesh stairway going to...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Casa de Isabella pays homage to the charm and history of Santa Marta's colonial era while ushering in a future rich in culture and beauty. Founded in 1525, Santa Marta is Colombia's oldest city. Its natural port provided a refuge from long journeys on Spanish galleons, and its position on the north coast allowed explorers to use it as a base camp for trips to the interior. Casa de Isabella sits in the Centro Historico, the Old City of Santa Marta. This area, first developed after the Manzanares river receded in 1850, holds buildings that reflect traditional Mudejar architecture. The building's original owners inhabited the house for four generations and contributed significantly to the city's growth in the 19th and 20th centuries. In renovating the hotel for the modern era, we consistently chose classic style, maintaining the original integrity of the building and its surrounding neighborhood. Our guests feel the simplicity of Santa Marta's natural charm while enjoying modern comforts. From the greenery of the courtyard to the intimacy of a personal rooftop pool, Casa de Isabella fuses the tranquility of Colombian culture with top quality hotel conveniences. With lighting fast Wi-Fi, complimentary I-Pads, and Apple TV, as well as restored furniture and handmade adornments, this hotel stays anchored in tradition while looking ahead toward a bright future. We have proudly renovated the most beautiful boutique hotel in the Colombian Caribbean. ... more   less
