Wanted a room in the centre of Opatija, close to the beach with reasonable price, and I got it. Hotel Amalia is an old villa, built in 19th century, next to hotel Kvarner, former kuursaal with great terrace. Beautiful old building, but also old interior. Old walls, beds, carpets, bathroom and TV - like you are back to the 60's. No wi-fi, no free parking (actually there is a few free parking spaces and they were always occupied). The restaurant is in a nearby hotel Kvarner and the food is excellent. Staff were nice and friendly.
