We stayed 6 nights in Casa del Lago in June 2014 with our three children. The location is close to town, but on a quiet side street. We enjoyed several hours of parades after Ecuador's World Cup victory. Elena was super helpful in regards to helping us explore the islands on land-based tours. She also offers an interesting perspective on...

This was the first hotel we stayed out on our way around the Galapagos islands. The bar/cafe/reception closes at 3pm (it opens again at around 5pm) but the owner had very kindly stayed behind knowing that we would be arriving around this time. We were given a large room with its own little terrace. It was clean and well equipped...

I stayed here a couple of years ago and never wrote a review then. I'm going through my journal now and realized that I should write something. Elena was amazing. She fully accommodated us, set us up with tours, fed us amazing local food (she even let us have tomatoes from her garden for our salad!), she showed us around...

We'd been on Isla Isabella for 4 nights before arriving in Puerto Ayora, so we were spoiled. Very spoiled. Puerto Ayora is a very busy town - the biggest in the Galapagos - and there is a lot of activity. When we first arrived at the hotel, we were tired, grumpy, and very hot. At first glimpse, we were disappointed...

Great location for the town--wonderful hostess and unique atmosphere in a recycled new world design that was the rage in the 80's in Canada. We had the room right above the restaurant which was a charming airy glass and lace curtain green house. Right on the corner which is surprisingly such a busy corner in the morning. The room is...

3 facts about everything: 1) The road at early morning is busy, because it is the access to the harbor from which ALL excursions departure. All rooms overlook that street and the soundproofing is non-existent. Some rooms are really dark, without air conditioning: check them before you pay (the fair price is about 25-35 USD / room / night) (see...

Dear guest Thanks for your comments, i just want to give answer to the 3 points mentioned for you. 1.- about noise. The ISland of Santa Cruz is the most populated Island with only two main or principal avenues as you saw probably ,and our street were many hotels are around certainly some hours are busy for the same turistic...

We were delighted to stay at Casa del Lago in early January 2015. We stayed 2 nights and had 2 rooms, a corner double above the restaurant( gorgeous , unique , character filled , romantic with its own porch) and a triple with air conditioning for our teenage daughters. Both rooms had a mini kitchen and fridge. We were most...

The hotel is in an ideal location, five minute walk from town centre but much quieter than the main streets. Supermarket, ATM, jetty for trips, bars and restaurants all close by, plus laguna de las ninfas is behind hotel. Elena and staff are delightful, helpful and obliging. Good breakfast. Rooms and dining area all individually and tastefully designed by Elena,...

Casa Del Lago is charmingly decorated and well located. However, as several previous visitors have indicated on Trip Advisor, there is an ant problem. The problem is not as much in regard to the ants, as it is on how the management handles it's customer and attempts to resolved the problem. We stayed there in Oct. 2014. Within an hour...

We stayed here for three nights as part of a small group that was traveling together. The room was charming and interesting (as well as clean), with lots of space and a nice porch overlooking the garden. The breakfasts were excellent, and several times they allowed my wife to eat later in the day when she wasn't hungry early -...
