it truly is a waterfront inn, needing a water taxi to get there. the setting, decor and atmosphere are all wonderful. the staff is well-trained and very helpful. Buffet breakfast is excellent and our dinners also excellent complete with a visit from the chef.

I assume it is no smoking. I don't smoke so I didn't pay attention to any signage. However, I didn't see anyone smoking during the 5 days I stayed there--inside or outside. In fact, In a two and a half week period in Ecuador, I think I saw only three people smoking at all.
