I travelled with my two children to the Grand Makadi recently. Overall we had a lovely holiday. Staff were helpful and generally the room was ok, in need of a lick of paint, but very clean. The food in the restaurants was ok, but nothing special. However, do not eat in the Caribbean Restaurant. My son contracted gastroentorits after eating...

Location - hotel lies at the end of Makadi bay, with interesting view over bay. Madinat Makadi - 20 -30 minutes by walk on south by promenades of hotels. If you go northern, there you can find virgin beaches of Sahl Hashees. I made trip to Premier La Reve, it is 60 minutes by walk, along beach. Don’t forget water!...

We stayed here as a family of 3 in August 2011. Overall we thought the hotel was very nicely laid out and looked great. The room size was very good - we had two "Standard" Rooms, (2045 and 2043) but I secretly think they were junior suites as there was a large bedroom area and a decent sitting area as...

We went for a week in august, after seeing all the positive reviews on here we were really looking forward to a break with some good food and sun! Sadly the week was a massive disappointment. I'll start with the positives, the weather was fantastic and the pool was nice, clean and really refreshing when the sun got a bit...

Ok, to start with this hotel is NOT a 5*, a 3* at best but it is good enough for a week's holiday. Some comments I heard from other guests included "prison camp' and 'regimented', this being mainly down to the strict timings around the restaurants - if you miss breakfast as we did on our first morning due to...

The Hotel is very nice in parts the hotel is two in one the Grand Makadi & then the Makadi Palace. We were told we could use all the facilities in both hotels as it was on the one complex but that is not true we were not allowed as we were segregated by the colour arm bands handed out...

Firstly the hotel sits next to the makadi palace (same group but far better hotel), you can use all facilities but you have to pay a small charge for meals. The night entertainmant was varied but the complex was so large you can easily miss something (we missed the snake charmers). I would miss the animation team, international dancing, it...

We discovered this hotel a few years ago and this was our 3rd return visit - though we have never been in August before. First thing I can tell you is that August is very hot so if you don't like the heat this is not for you. The Grand is one of three Red Sea Hotels side by side...

The hotel is generally very well maintained with just a few small issues on maintenance but not enough to detract from the overall good standard. The room wa spacious. We paid for an upgrade and it seemed very worthwhile. The standour feature was the choice of restaurants and the quality of the food. The Thai restaurant in the adjoining Makadi...

The Grand Makadi is a great all inclusive hotel when you pay £389 p/p which included accommodation in a suite. The suite was very nice, when we finally go to it.
