Fort Arabesque Resort, Spa, & Villas promises tranquility and opulence with its 444 luxurious rooms, suites, private apartments and 14 newly built villas. Four dining venues, five swimming pools, including a children's pool (three of which are heated), a state-of-the-art gym, world-class Thai-managed Spa and sports facilities as well as I-Dive, a five-star IDC PADI dive center, guarantee a fun and unforgettable hotel experience. Inspired by the Sardinian roots of its architects, Fort Arabesque Resort & Spa combines distinctive Italian and Arabic accents in its architecture, from its imposing medieval fort structure to its interior touches and décor, where the different shades of Egyptian cave stones from Aswan blend with the antique fine wood furnishings of oriental designs. We would like to introduce our new concept as well, which is unique in Egypt. Nestled within the Fort Arabesque resort, The Villas offer its guests luxurious accommodation, space and privacy in addition to a more personal and dedicated service. Each of the 14 Villas (8 units with 1 bedroom + 1 bathroom, 6 units with 2 bedrooms + 2 bathrooms) is tastefully decorated to reflect the mix of Arabic accents and Mediterranean influences of the Fort Arabesque Resort. All units have private garden and terrace with private access to a secluded swimming pool exclusive to The Villas. To ensure a fast and efficient service, the check-in is done through a private reception. The residents also have access to the Pavilion which is a private lounge where the villa guests can enjoy a semi-served upgraded breakfast in the morning. For lunch and dinner time the Pavilion functions as an A’la Carte Restaurant, giving the opportunity to enjoy a fine dining experience. The extra benefits of the Villa Guests include free Wi-Fi, free Gym usage and various discounts in the different outlets of the hotel. Guests at The Villas are free to use all the facilities and enjoy the same ‘all inclusive’ benefits at the resort with quick access to the main restaurant and the beach as well.

This is the 2nd time I have visited the Fort Arabesque but there will not be a 3rd visit. The hotel has changed quite a bit since the expansion of the villas side of things with a whole section of the beach now dedicated to Villa guests only. The hotel seems to operate a 4 tier guest experience now which consists of Villa guests, beach plus guest, West Bay guests and lastly the guests who are in the East Wing but don't have beach plus. Yes, you can pay extra for beach plus but at 25 euros per person each day on top of a holiday already costing over £3k it seems excessive and money grabbing at the extreme! The food so far has been very repetitive and bland, again not what you would expect for hotel that is charging premium prices. Being served drinks in paper cups at the Beach bar again is something I wouldn't expect from a hotel claiming to be a high quality resort. The hotel offers no protection to guest either at the pool or beach from the relentless approaches from reps from the Spa, massage, tattoo parlour, parasailling and quad bike tours just to name a few and don't forget the Animation team. Trying to relax on a lounger quickly becomes frustratingly impossible due to all the interruptions! Our room is nice but having paid extra for a sea view and only being able to see a tiny glimpse through the trees only adds to the feeling of disappointment at returning to this resort. The only plus point I can find is the fact that the snorkelling remains top notch. The hotel is very German orientated which may be bad timing on our part but certainly doesn't help improve the Fort Arabesque experience this time around.

Good points: 1-The beach is perfect and alot of coral reefs 2- The food is good 3- The staff are really nice and helpful 4- Overall cleanliness is acceptable Bad points: 1- Internet/wifi not free in the rooms !!!! 2- Rooms furniture and design are really old-fashioned 3- Spots on the beach are reserved in exchange of money so you have to look around for some time to find a non reserved umbrella 4- The prices are expensive against quality and facilities

Fort Arabesque is an amazing resort. We have just returned from 3 days in the West Bay adults only wing. The rooms are roomy and have great views over the pool and beach. You can walk right up to the various reefs at low tide and see the many coloured fish. At high tide snorkeling is safe and easy. The coral is very pretty. It was easy to get deck chairs on the beach so we didnt bother paying the extra money to reserve them in advance. Most of the staff are very friendly but a few expected tips for giving very basic advice. The food is plentiful, varied and good quality. Overall we had an amazing stay.

Firstly let me start by saying this was my very 1st trip to Egypt (my fiance's 6th) and this hotel set the bar pretty high for me. The staff were all hugely friendly and loved a joke with the guests. The room was pretty basic in the sense it had a balcony, fridge, beds and a bathroom. I don't go on holiday to sit in the room though so it was more than adequate for our needs. The housekeeping staff we had for the fortnight were great and it was always the same guy. He was very friendly and always greeted you with a smile. The balcony faced out of the side of the hotel and we felt it was a little bit far from just about everything but again, I have no real complaints about it. There was a little construction work being done while we were there as they are working on a new poolside area. It looks fab and I think when it is complete it will look amazing with a whole new bar and a rock feature in the pool. Gutted we didn't get to see the finished article, but you never know, we may go back! The food was pretty basic and samey and if we had one complaint about it, was that the rotations (days when the choices came round again) were too soon. There was plenty to go round though and you never had to wait before it was replenished. The staff at the buffet were all very friendly and always keen to tell you what was in the dish and make recommendations. There was 1 restaurant really but it was split over 2 levels and there was 2 different buffet setups. Again, the staff were brilliant, Ibrahim always clocked us on the way in and we always had our Fanta/Cola on the table ready for us when we got back with our dinner and always ready to get us new drinks once they were finished. The pool areas were great and always clean and you can grab 2 towels from the towel shack using your cards which you get from reception when checking in. Return these at the end of the day for your card and you can get fresh towels daily. I was particularly thankful for the parasols available but there could have been more available. Being ginger I'm not sure how I would have handled the boiling sun all day. As far as the pool area goes, my only complaint was that there wasn't many toilets. You had 2 toilets available at the Beach Bar or 2 in the Lobby but for a hotel that has upwards of 400 rooms, it just made me not want to drink too much so I wouldn't be constantly on the search for a loo! The hotel is right on the beach, it stretches out over 600m of gorgeous sandy beach with several inlets into the Red Sea. All of the sun loungers on the beach have a parasol, again very thankful for this and as the sun moved across the sky you just found yourself doing a wee dance round the parasol to stay in the shade haha. They do have a Quiet Area on the beach which is for adults only and this was perfect if you didn't want the noise of kids screaming all day. This was located in front of the West Bay annex and it was generally pretty easy to find some loungers. One thing I really didn't like at the hotel was the amount of people who kept going round the guests trying to sell their product, wind surfing, quad tours, beauty salons, massage, photographers, coach tours etc... I understand these people need to make a living but there was a point where we had about 3/4 different guys approach us from the same Beauty Salon several times a day. By the 3rd or 4th day we were pretty exhausted by it all. IDive centre at the end of the hotel on the beach were fantastic and I encourage anyone to go snorkeling/diving with them. I am afraid of the open water (a proper deep phobia) but the guys there really make you feel at ease and don't push you into anything you're not ready for. I would highly recommend a snorkel/dive trip. We did go for a couple's package of massage at the Spa where the Thai girls worked. The spa itself was immaculate and we went for the Romeo and Juliet package where my fiance and I were in the same room. We had a 30 minute Jacuzzi/Steam Room session, a 30 minute full body scrub and a 55 minute Egyptian Massage. I have to say the girls were amazing. As someone who does this for a living I would highly recommend a trip to the Massage Spa. It was so good we went back again. I got another Egyptian massage while my fiance got the Thai massage. Thomas who runs the tours downstairs outside the restaurant was great. We did the Private car tour to Luxor and Cairo and they were both amazing! They are long day trips, Cairo was a good 20hrs long but it was an air conditioned car that had WiFi so it was manageable. Definitely recommend the tours but take them in different weeks with a few days between them because they are very tiring. The sights you see are pretty awe inspiring! Le Jardin bar was great - a really chilled out place to sit and have a cocktail after dinner - with Mostafa and the guys. Always up for a laugh and a joke and always bending over backwards to help. The drive time between Hurghada Airport/City and the resort was around 50 minutes, longer than we expected. The hotel is in quite a secluded area of Makadi Bay and its gated with security. There is no walking into town from this hotel but you can easily grab a taxi at reception to come pick you up. Overall, we would definitely return to this hotel. We had an absolutely amazing time here and we were gutted to finally leave. Hopefully we can go back soon!

Visited all the bars at Fort Arabesque yet again, but 100% the best bar by miles on the Red Sea is Club 159. Great music, great live music, great staff, the best atmosphere by far. Try out the restaurant for fantastic food, changed on a daily basis, but mercer disappointed. Faultless.

We stopped in the west wing which is for adults only. It's also closer to the dive centre. Our primary reason for starting here was to dive. (Can recommend I dive the 5 star padi on site dive centre). Room was a good size with a/c and very comfortable. Good selection of food in the restaurant. We did try the beach BBQ on evening which was okay but could have done with a light on the table. (Most groups were using torches on phones to see what they're eating).Pool was quite with aige guard and no kids but does close at 6.00. All staff very happy to help. On the negative side I don't like haggling over prices in the shops (but suspect this is their way of life). Difficult to shake some of the sales people wonder round by the pool ( I didn't want a hair cut etc) ended up being a bit rude to get rid.

The only thing wrong with Fort Arabesque is leaving it. My husband and myself have had an amazing 2 weeks in the hotel. From checking in to checking out, everything was perfect. The West bay rooms in the new block are lovely. The west bay restaurant, Ahmed Amin and his staff, including Alaa, and his waiters and kitchen staff are so friendly and welcoming, we’ve made friends for life. Hi to my fellow biscuit thief. The staff at the pool bar in west bay are very friendly and the service is impeccable. A big thank you and a hug for all the lattes, sprits and fantas. Life guards are very helpful and chatty. The whole place is kept impeccably clean and tidy, the gardens are perfect, the gardeners on the Green team should be proud of everything they do, I even take a few cuttings to grow back home. This was are second visit to the hotel and it certainly won’t be the last. Big thankyou to everyone for an amazing stay. Thank you for the Birthday Cake for my husbands birthday too. SEE YOU ALL NEXT YEAR ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

It's a 4 star hotel . What was good : The rooms were spacious, cleaned thoroughly everyday. - the facilities there to some extent new The animation team have a small number but they are trying really more than their best to entertain the residents although some of the shows like the comedy show was totally absurd and contains alot of adult content without it being labelled as adults only . There was alot of tourists, which I think to some extent improved the service. corals in close proximity to the beach good for snorkeling What was bad : Unfortunately from the minute we stepped there , we were received by one of the front desk crew called Ahmed , he was any thing but polite . Shouted on several occasions on our children . I was really shocked of this horrible attitude. The food is really limited ,repeated , tasteless and of poor quality ( IAM sure you will find something to eat but , this is not what I expected or opted for when I decided to go to a resort) Only few dishes you would find it acceptable to eat but a good range of salads though The staff is overworked and definitely underpaid and you can see this clearly with the way 95% of the staff treats you . No one smiles , every request you ask for from the staff , it makes you feel that you overburdening them with that request ( With that atmosphere you will find it pointless to complaint when you see that this the way every one in the hotel treats you . As part of our family is Egyptian and some of us used their Egyptian nation ID to check-in, you will find it totally different the way they treat the Egyptian Vs the no Egyptian. Overall not the best experience. I thinks that hotel have what it takes to be a super but the service and the human factor there needs huge betterment. And Ahmed from the front desk needs to learn about the basics of customer service , as I find it totally absurd to have some one with that attitude and lack of manners working on the front desk of a 4 star hotel.

The fort is situated on the longest stretch of beach in makadi bay. We stayed in West bay which is the adult only part of the hotel. It has its own pool. The staff here are so friendly and welcoming. The restaurant offered a good choice of food and styles. An Asian corner has been added and the curries and oriental food was delicious. There are freshly baked pizzas and a pasta corner. We always enjoyed the meals. We had a really lovely meal at the pavillion restaurant. The quality of food and the service was excellent. We highly recommend a meal here. There is work between the two wings of the hotel, to build a new pool area. There was some noise and some rooms would have their view spoilt. The work is well on the way to completion. The beach area is good for swimming and snorkelling on the house reef. The Life guards are attentive and do a good job. The on site dive school "I dive" is excellent. They offer padi courses, and a range of dives from the hotel pier. In addition they have trips to the wreck of the Salem Express and other boat trips. The grounds and garden areas are beautifully maintained. We have been going to the fort for a number of years and recommend this hotel, for its location in makadi bay and the friendly staff who make the stay so good.
