We reached Manali after a 17 hour drive from Ludhiana. The roads had caved in, the rains had made them muddy and there was an accident that shut the road for several hours. We were at the end of our tether when we reached. A single bad episode would have tipped the temper scales. I was overwhelmed by the welcome and efficiency. We were a group of nearly 17. But everything worked like clockwork. Although it was almost midnight, we were fed with good food. The rooms were cavernous and clean. The room service and the house keeping staff were super efficient. The lawns so well kept. Incredible property. Will love to go back again. I was a tad disappointed by the food pricing. Quite expensive I felt. There was a live band on one evening. Absolutely brilliant and electrifying. THe DJ too was mind blowing.

I went to this place today with my family. The ambience is excellent, food is average but the staff attitude clearly shows that the management is money minded. We were sitting in the outside area and heard live music from somewhere outside. Upon asking the person who was managing our table he told us that it is playing in some cafe which is far away from here. After believing him we placed the order and started enjoying. At around 11 pm they asked us for last order and the bill was presented since we were done with the food. When we paid the bill we again asked the staff that where is the live music playing since we could judge with the level of volume that it is not far away. The staff then told us that it is playing in the cafe next door which is the Johnson's cafe. Upon asking that why we're we not informed earlier when we asked 3 times, we got the response that "sir we are not allowed to tell sice they both are different owners and have separated the business and we have been asked not to tell anyone". We really felt cheated and this kind of attitude is really not acceptable in the hospitality industry. Our entire experience was spoilt. We have come from delhi and specially came to enjoy some live music. Would never recommend this place to anyone in future again. I really felt cheated

Johnson's lodge and spa is definitely a great option for your stay in Manali. Positives: - The location is perfect! It's the best thing about the hotel. It is right next to Mall road. Also, it is just a km away from the wonderful cafes of old Manali. - Decent car parking - Second-floor premium rooms are great. They are super spacious and provide a great view of the mountains. - V large bed - Decent restaurant with a large menu - Lovely outdoor garden seating area - Pet friendly - Better pricing option directly with the hotel - Large bar menu - Hukkah Not-so-positive: - Some menu items unreasonably priced (350 for 2 cups of tea in the morning) - Breakfast not included in the room rate - Depressing corridors outside rooms Overall, the hotel does a great job, especially because of its location. Please vote YES if you found the review helpful.

I was served cold trout when i asked waiter to replace he was showing arrogance to and friends. i believe this is because uneducated root staff and lack of training. Food takes forever to come, not value for money. Please please don't waste your time here, there are many better options to dine.
