We loved everything about our stay in that hotel. First the building itself. The care that went into creating a unique and beautiful castle hotel is remarquable. The sense of details in the architecture itself, in the decor, in the paintings, in the furniture creates a interesting and very cosy atmosphere. The service is impeccable. Whatever your need was, it was catered to; firewood delivery, and the starting of the fire; a meal delivered to your room at any time, what to visit and how to get there, suggestions for other restaurants in town, laundry, teaching our driver how to put snow chains on our car, etc... All the staff is professional, kind and efficient. The owner Nishat makes sure that his guests feel at home and enjoy the stay. He took us on a tour of the property. He let our children harvest some veggies from the hotel's garden that were delicious. We had such nice conversations with him.The day we had to leave, he drove us at the bottom of the village when a foot of snow fell down so we could be safe. His assistant, Vivek, was driving our car. We stayed a week there and never get bored with the food because of the variety and quality that they offer. Good service is at the top of their concerns so we were never bothered by the many blackouts that the town had, which in the middle of the winter means hot showers, and always warm rooms.
I highly recommended to stay in that hotel because it is a place where you build memories and friendships on top of a great service and a beautiful facility.

We visited Manali during the Dec 2019 and Jan 2020. This place is very attractive to anyone who loves Gothic architecture and colonial ambience. Every part of the hotel is done thoughtfully and very much in sync with the Gothic theme.
It is quite appreciable that so many amenities are made available though it does not escape common sense that it’s not easy to get resources in hilly areas.
The hotel management constantly makes themselves available for the needs of their guests. They try their best to cater to the needs of the guest.
The most attractive characteristic of the resort is it’s picturesque location. Every room gets a beautiful view of the mountain and every time of the day it’s overlooking beauty wether it’s the Himalaya, the beautifully lit Manali at night or the twinkling night sky.
Although the resort can work on expanding its food menu but whatever is there on the menu is quite palatable.

As a family it is our earnest effort looking for heritage properties which offer grandeur and comfort. The Himalayan is centrally located b/w the old and the new Manali market with accessibility to most of the known spots in town at walkable distance. We discovered the cornices and corbels in the premises with great attention to detailing to the services as well. Trekking prescribed around was an icing on the cake along Hampta Pass. You are in for some great views to treasure here - When in Manali; it is recommended to plan your stay at Himalayan - Your tryst with nature.

This is the most magnificent experience one can have while staying in the town of manali. This is my second time at this Gothic styled castle hotel. It is perched up on a hill surrounded by an orchard and pine trees with the most picturesque views overlooking the town of manali.

With old world charm, hard wood floors, stone structures and even a hedge maze on the property, our lovely cottage room overlooked the snow capped mountains.

What made the location idyllic other than its views and hospitality was that we could walk to old manali and enjoy all the riverside cafes and restaurants. That was a big boon in itself!!

The owner Nishat was so lovely to chat with and helped plan our time on both my trips.

We wanted to do something off the beaten track and he guided us to one of the most spectacular hikes that was walkable from the property. The trail was through pine forests with views of the snow capped mountains throughout. I couldn’t believe my eyes. We eventually reached a village surrounded by cherry blossoms and apple orchards. The adventure of the trail kept increasingly and soon we were walking a once shepherds trail with views that leave you spell bound.

I’m so happy with my time at the himalayan and will only choose to stay here!!

I stayed at The Himalayan for little over a week in January, while Manali and areas around it were experiencing extreme snow. While the town infrastructure as well as the local cafes was finding it hard to cope, The Himalayan ensured that all their guests were looked after. My room was nice and toasty as was The Refectory dining room, The Parlour lounge and the Conservatory. The Himalayan probably offers the best views from it's vantage location with a varied Western and Indian menu. I could not find fault with any of their dishes which were delivered promptly. The resort has an unmistakable character uncommon in most hotels. The staff was extremely polite and efficient and anticipated all my needs. They organised skiing equipment with an excellent guide to accompany me off piste. I hope to be back in another season for some hiking. Keep up the good work!

Stayed at the place with a pool view room. The hotel is bustling and the service is great. Had dinner - excellent food options and the service was unparalleled. The breakfast (especially waffles with maple syrup) was just simply to die for! Lovely service by Mr. Vivek - a veteran at the hotel industry, what an exceptional hospitality.

The views from this place hills covered with misty clouds. All beautiful colours of the flowers.

The staff was super vigilant with COVID precautions, everything was being sanitized after every few minutes. Hospitality under social distancing norms is not easy - but The Himalayan has that covered.

The tiramisu by the fireplace and castle vibe actually made me and my friends feel like princesses.

Thank you so much for the unforgettable time.

Our first trip to Manali and we immediately fell in love with this property, people and service extended. The entire architecture, decor and attention to detail takes you back in time to a Victorian-esque experience. Visually stunning surroundings of mountains from our room made it almost impossible to leave the property. We just wanted to stay in and enjoy the view in front of the fireplace. It was a remarkable experience.

We spent a total of 6 nights. From the moment we arrived, everyone from the owner, front office and F&B personnel made us feel like family. Their warmth, courteousness, genuine passion in understanding guests needs (and anticipating those) made our stay so much more engaging and experiential. You're completely in a different world when you step into The Himalayan.

We certainly will go back. And this time it will be more than 6 nights!

We sighted this modern magnificent castle surronded by palm trees; biking in and around old Manali. The Inquisitiveness to know more about modern medieval castle led us to discover that one can stay for holidays. We did not even think and shifted in The Himalayan.

We stayed at The Himalayan for 6 days and always felt elated on our decision to come here. The view of the colossal Himalayan mountains with snow covered peaks from the rooms and by the pool side where one can dine were splendid and somehow it brings tranquility/peace within. They have a working fireplace in the room and i made a full use of it by enacting the scenes; i saw in classic english movies during my childhood days.

The staff is professional and at the same time courteous in delivering their services. We could not find any slackness on the cleaning and maintenance front which is the sole criteria of a traveller in choosing his accomodation during the pandemic time.

After the accomodation, the other integral part of your holiday is food of the destination and I must blame The Chef of the hotel for my increased weight during my stay at The Himalayan. It was simply delicious; even after overeating my tastebuds where craving for more and more.

The Himalayan is amazing place for your holidays in manali and stay over here will only accentuate your happiness

From the moment we saw The Himalayan, we knew it was going to be a different experience. It's like a little piece of England surrounded by the beauty of Manali, so you feel like you are in two places at once. The hotel really makes you think that you're living in a castle, from the stone walls to the maze, the dining hall and the main hall you really feel like you've stepped back in time. The staff at the reception were efficient and friendly. The cottage we stayed in was pretty, clean, had a great view and was equipped with everything that we needed for a comfortable stay including a fireplace. The cottage has a fully functioning kitchen which the housekeeping staff kept clean and they did a good job with maintaining the rest of the cottage too.The bedrooms were very well heated which was super important as we had snow for three of the four days that we spent there in early January 2022. The white blanket of snow transformed the hotel into something magical. The owner, Nishad, has worked hard to make this property different. The menu at the restaurant was very good and the food was excellent. We had so many delicious choices to start our day with at breakfast. The pancakes, waffles and spinach and mushroom crepe were excellent. Hot pakoras, chilly cheese toast and ginger honey tea in the afternoons, were just what we needed to warm us up after spending time in the snow. We enjoyed eating our meals at the lovely outdoor space of the restaurant. Our food was brought to us by the friendly and polite Mr.Diwan, who also gave us advice about the weather and places to see. The room service option for the other meals was great, especially when it snowed or rained heavily at night and we didn't want to step out. The view from the look out at the top of the hotel was just stunning. It was a wonderful holiday, just what we had expected and more. We're looking forward to our next visit already.

The Himalayan is a quiet and comfortable place to stay - located so close to the bustle of the Manali town. The breathtaking view of the snow clad mountains from the room and from the grounds of the resort is really so calming. The staff of the hotel are so very helpful and friendly. Our local sightseeing travel was arranged through the resort entirely to our satisfaction. The food, though a bit expensive, is tasty and the staff in the dining area are so courteous. The Manager was ever so helpful. All told, it was a memorable experience.

They have Lloyd Hot & Cold Split ACs in both bedroom of the cottage which give decent amount of heating. For the hall in the cottage, they have a fireplace but then you need to buy a wood basket for Rs 800 from Resort.

Doubtful about it snowing in November - however with changing weather conditions one can never say. Would help if you called the manager - for any kind of assistance - he is extremely helpful and from my experience I know he will give you advice that suits you best - they definitely aren’t the types who would push something on to you if it does not suit your needs.
