Tucked away in a little side street away from the hustle and bustle of Fort Kochi this is a little oasis of calm. We arrived much to early to check in but they still made us welcome with fresh juice while our rooms were prepared. We had the romantic suite which was lovely, air conditioned with a fantastic private balcony. Breakfasts were very good, snacks available as well as lots of fresh juices. No bar but you can bring your own drinks in to have on site. Lots of nice sitting areas. Special mention must go to Sunesh who was so helpful and look after us very well during our 3 nights here

Nice room, good shower (# 3, double deluxe)
Lovely courtyard, an oasis, with a pool. Very silent, no traffic noise. Pillows & seating areas everywhere.
Environmental thinking - glass bottles with water, paper straws. Very good value!

We arrived in this oasis of peace and quiet after a hectic week in Jaipur. The rooms were spacious and tastefully appointed. Every day was started with a yoga class in the outdoor yoga studio, followed by a delicious breakfast cooked by attentive staff.
Secret Garden is in a great location in relation to the town, which is charming and fun to visit. I would highly recommend staying here.

We stayed two nights in this very charming, centrally located, heritage homestay owned by a very welcoming Icelandic lady. It was extremely peaceful with a central courtyard and a very clean pool. We were looked after extremely well by all the staff who were attentive and accommodating. The rooms were furnished very attractively in a characterful vintage style and were very comfortable. My wife and I were travelling with our daughter and we had one of the larger family rooms with two beds. Please note that no alcohol is served on the premises although the staff were very happy with guests bringing their own wine/beer and helping themselves to glasses. The facilities are otherwise relatively limited but without doubt, one will get an authentic, heritage, boutique hotel experience at a very reasonable room rate. I would happily recommend it for a short stay forming part of a longer Kerala trip. Thank you to the team at The Secret Garden for looking after us.

The Secret Garden is just that, in that it is tricky to find! But once you have found it, you get personal service. Clean and comfortable rooms. Beautiful pool area and well situated in Fort Kochi. Staff really went the extra mile to make our stay special, we were welcomed with, our choice of freshly squeezed juice and then shown to our rooms. The breakfast was exceptional, especially the homemade pumpkin bread! We needed a late checkout which was accommodated and they even let us keep a room at a small extra cost. If we were ever back in Fort Kochi we would certainly return.

A perfect oasis of peace in Fort Cochin ( Kochi) ..a warm welcome by the owners who showed us to a beautiful authentic Indian bedroom and bathroom. All spotlessly clean. There are plug in mosquito repellents in the rooms , insect nets and they had lit lovely incense sticks in the room before we arrived. There are midges rather than mosquito around from 5pm to 7am but cover up and wear protection ( unfortunately they get me despite all precautions !) ...this isn't the hotels fault ! ( looking at previous reviews )
Fresh drinking water was provided and available for top up in reception ( love the initiative to reduce plastic bottle use) The breakfast was plentiful and fresh, evening meals are available and cooked to your requirements ( very reasonable £15 for2). There is daily yoga class you can book onto and a lovely pool. The area is relatively quiet and felt really safe to walk around. I would highly recommend this beautiful hotel.

This is a real hidden gem. We arrived late evening and we were taken to our room and welcomed with delicious fresh Pineapple juice and completed the paperwork the following morning. Staff are very friendly and we were served fresh eggs along with a choice of juices, fruit amongst other things. You can walk to the restaurants and shops in around 10/15 minutes. The room was hugh, clean and we did yoga on our balcony in the morning which was a great start to the day. Highly recommend this property

I was really surprised to find an accommodation at such a lovely heritage property. Nestled at the end of the sleepy Bishop Lane is the wonderful Secret Garden. As the name suggests, the gate opens to a beautiful property filled with old memories and lush greenery. The house has been built using ingenious Kerala architecture that boasts lovely designs using natural elements such as wood and clay. There are also vibrant murals inside every room. The place is only a ten minute walk to the beach and other hotspots that Fort Kochi has to offer. The property is maintained really well and has a pool for those who enjoy swimming. We were looked after quite well by the guy who manages the place. I will definitely come back here should I ever get a chance.

Bear, wine and other alcoholic drinks can be bought in near by BEVCO shops or brought from the tax free shop at the airport were you are a allowed 2 bottles per person ( light or strong:-). For G and T lovers it is worth to mention that no gin has been found in BEVCOS shelves for some time but can be bought at the airport. Best wishes for a lovely a holiday in Kerala, Thora
