Detailed Reviews
Large rooms and lovely staff. But the management could be improved. We had to request things several times, such as mosquito coils, before we got them and the housekeeping was very unreliable - different amounts of towels each day, table top not cleaned, had to keep asking for clean glasses. The manager never seemed to check on anything. Such a shame as it is in a great position.

Hotel rates in Fort Cochin were astronomical so I decided to try the Killians which had availability and was not too expensive.
First the positives. It is in a fantastic location in Fort Cochin, very close to the Chinese Fishing Nets and across the road from Brunton Boathouse. The reception, restaurant and housekeeping staff I dealt with were all friendly and helpful. Special recognition should go to Mr Jithin, the night time receptionist, who went above and beyond to help me with a number of issues. He is an excellent employee and very nice person.
On the negative side the rooms are rather dark and drab, and cleaning could be better. I had problems with my safe box (some numbers not working), there was no view from the window and the WIFI was poor and kept dropping out.
Breakfast was limited, but acceptable, with fresh juice, good omelettes and fresh fruits. Coffee was quite poor though.
I would return to Killians only if I got a very good deal, with the hope that the WIFI and room cleaning could be improved.

This hotel has an excellent location a stone's throw from all of Fort Kochi's sightseeing, restaurants and right next to the ferry pier. The off-set garden gives you a blissful serenity off the main road and bustle and bustle. The restaurant has a very limited number of choices, and the breakfast is very limited past 9am (but we opted for ordering Masala omelettes, which were yummy). The bougainvilleas nicely frame the balconies set around the pool and courtyard and it feels very colonial and authentic in its architecture. The hotel is secured with CCTV and guards and all the staff are very accommodating and friendly. There is a bar next door, but it isn't noisy in the evening and there are plenty of tuk-tuks outside to take you around Fort Kochi and Mantancherry for the day. The rooms are massive and offer all your basic needs.
Overall, a very pleasant stay!!

We were booked into this hotel by our travel company in India. Our vacation is based on 4 star accommodation where available on our tour. We stayed one night to see Fort Kochi.
This hotel displays 4 stars!!
Don't expect the normal welcome and smiling staff in this hotel. We felt they were totally disinterested. Our room 201 smelled of drains and the a/c was very difficult to control, possibly because the batteries in the control were flat.
Amenities in room included a china pot with 2 loose teabags and a coffee sachet. The bathroom had a single , part-used toilet roll, 1 tiny shampoo bottle and 2 small hotel soaps with 2 bath and 2 hand towels.
Breakfast was awful, not at all like the usual ample choice buffet. Only enough cereal on the buffet for perhaps 4 diners and staff watching like hawks to make sure you didn't take too much we felt. Cut fruit was provided in the form of unripe orange melon that was too hard to eat. Omelette was offered, hard boiled eggs, toast, chicken sausage and 2 local dishes were also on the buffet. The only fruit juice was warm pineapple.
It's possibly one of the best hotels in Kochi fort we were told, I'd hate to stay in the others if that is the case.

I initially only booked 4 nights at this hotel, but I loved it so much that I extended my stay to 8 nights! I cannot fault this hotel- gorgeous, spacious room, lovely peaceful swimming pool and the staff were so friendly, helpful and attentive at all times. I ate in the restaurant on countless occasions during my stay, trying a new dish every time. Each meal was absolutely delicious- fresh and flavoursome. As a solo female traveller, it’s important for me to feel safe and I did at all times at the Killians. I felt that the staff really looked out for me- the security guard would even wave every time I went out and came back in! I’ve been lucky enough to visit over 50 countries and the Killians is up there with one of the loveliest hotels I’ve stayed in for this price bracket. I wouldn’t hesitate in coming back in the future.

This is not a boutique hotel and the name is totally misleading. I would categorize this as an average three star hotel and too expensive for what you get. Rooms are no-frill and rather dark but at least spacious. The interior design is simple with old wooden furniture. No minibar. Breakfast is basic and doest no have a lot of choices and if you do not go early then the food will be cold. The breakfast hall is also dark and uninviting. There is a small pool but only few hours of sunshine. The only positive thing about the place really is its location just opposite the river in the heart of Fort Kochi.

Located immediately next to the ferry connection to Vypin, the hotel provided a calm retreat from the busy area outside.
My room was enormous and had a very powerful air conditioner. The Wi-Fi was strong. The included buffet breakfast had a selection of food, and freshly cooked omelettes were also available.
The hotel is located near Vasco da Gama Square and waterfront walks.

Great location, friendly staff, good size clean rooms. Usual Indian Fayre for breakfast but coffee, tea, cooked eggs, toast, butter and jam were available as an alternative. Staff forgot to tell us there was an immersion heater so shower water was cold on the first morning. Wifi was good.

This is a great hotel in a good location in Old Kochi. It is near to a variety of eating places and a tourist market and within walking distance of some key attractions. The hotel has comfortable, well furnished rooms with complimentary water. Breakfast has a range of dishes, some Indian and some continental dishes. The staff are friendly and courteous and keen to make the stay a good one. We had some problems with our air con and the staff responded quickly and moved us to a different room.

Dear Mikey
The hotel is now 4 star classified and it has all the requisites to be termed as an international standard 4* hotel. It is obvious that out of vast number of guests who are very much satisfied with our hotel and facilities very few take take the time to give their report on trip-advisor. On the contrary, as you mentioned the so called incredibly over fussy people put their negative ratings for reasons of their own. You may confidently book with us and experience yourselves; you will be happy to stay at Killians.
