We stayed here for two nights, one in a Palace Suite and other night in an Executive Deluxe room. The place suite was a real royal experience with palatial rooms, exquisite decor, amazing furniture/woodwork, and excellent service. The Executive room was routine.

Resort's USP is it's location. Great place to walkaround and to idle at one of those benches facing the backwaters, either on the Marina side or on the Lake side watching boats go by.

We were visiting the place as part of organizing a family event. We had hired the 130-seater Lake Side hall and the adjacent pandhal for a function and lunch thereafter. Our guests were all in praises for the location and ambiance of the place.

Staff are very friendly and courteous. Food is decent. Restaurant tend to get crowded during breakfast and dinner times. There is ample open parking in the premises.

KTDC's efforts to maintain the place in it's natural form without much alteration/construction in the property is to be greatly appreciated

An excellent property with awesome location and view of the sea from the rooms are mesmerizing..

The food is good..

Being managed by KTDC, u can find striking difference between Govt and private resorts..
Service is late and the rooms need more cleaning..

KTDC needs to regularly do upkeep of their property n in line with private competition training of their staff .
The location is good with huge property expanse . But upkeep is missing .
Food was average with delayed service and careless staff . Buffet gets over by 9 with replenishing taking time . Managers not prepared for footfall.

It enjoys a great location advantage for being on bolgatty island .

We had a family get together at Bolgatty Palace and Island Resorts. We were a big group of about 30 people and we spent 3 nights at the resort. Initially the guests were unsure of whether we would have enough to do at the resort for that many days but it turned out to be absolutely great!

The resort is on an island in the middle of Kerala’s renowned backwaters and it serves as a perfect locale to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the backwaters while at the same time providing easy access to the vibrant Kochi city. The resort has well laid out lawns, swimming pool with a view and the historic Dutch-built Bolgatty palace serves as the backdrop for all the fun.

We had great fun dancing on New Year’s Eve, going for boat rides from the resort’s pier, playing water polo at the swimming pool, engaging in a game of cricket and watching Kerala’s art form, Kathakali, that was organized by the resort.

The rooms are big and very spacious and room service was super responsive, attentive to all our needs. Food was very good and the chef was very willing to accommodate our special requests. Their caramel custard is a must try! 😋

Overall, the guests had a great time and we all returned with troves of great memories!

We did not enjoy our stay here. It was very far away from everything (which makes it nice and peaceful) but also inconvenient. Have to get a taxi anywhere you go. Staff were not very nice. The WiFi didn’t work in our room, so they moved us to a different room and kept telling us “we have moved you to very expensive room”, which we did not need or want, we just wanted our WiFi to work, which also didn’t work in the new room. Breakfast is very basic. One day they had a buffet, and one we had to just order off a menu. They kept changing the price of breakfast everytime we asked, and charged us different amounts for both days. For the price, it was not what we expected. You could get somewhere much nicer in Kochi for less money - avoid Bolgatty Palace.

A getaway from the hustle and bustle of work to a truly refreshing air. The room was facing towards the marina and it is a delight looking at the boats and the fisherman plying on the waters in the morning. Food is excellent and so are the rooms.

The place is so rundown and moral of staff is also very low.
At check-in no porter to assist with bags; went to reception to ask for porter to help with bag but no once came so had to drag the bags inside.
lifts is in poor condition. The rooms are very basic, damp and need to be revamped and upgraded.

Being my first time to attend Kochi for KTM this place left me feeling why bother attending KTM if thats the hotel they give.

One of the oldest existing Dutch Mansions outside Holland for a pleasant stay. Used to visit occasionally. With palace, backwaters and nature the island resort was best suited for a comfortable and relaxed stay having tantalizing memories. Traditional style spacious rooms were charm, neat, clean, well furnished and properly maintained. There were excellent amenities and facilities. Facing the backwaters the balcony refreshed with breeze, beautiful sunset and city views. The restaurant was specialized with delicious dishes having varieties of selections and professional services.Hospitality was the best.Natural healing ,Pool was closed.

The palace was built by a Dutch merchant in 1744The building was then the Governor's palace for the commander of Dutch Malabar. In 1909 the palace was purchased by the King of Cochin and leased to the English East India Company. It served as the home of the British governors, being the seat of the British Resident of Cochin during the British Raj. After 1947, when India attained independence, the palace became the property of the state and was converted into a heritage hotel resort.

The palace has been a favourite with film directors. Many movies have been shot here including Nirakoottu, a song in Mizhi Randilum and Yes Boss.

You can visit the palace even if you are not staying there. The restaurant is open for non residents and we too went there for lunch. The Buffet lunch is a great value for money option. The spread is lavish and the views are drop down gorgeous!

Located in a huge area in an island with ancient palatial buildings. The palace suite rooms are spacious with a sitting room, balcony, very big wash room, dressing area. Very pleasant staff. The surroundings are worth spending for lesiure during the day and evenings with lots of traffic in the water around. The food quality and service in the restaurant are not upto the mark. ill recommend for a one time experience.
