Chic luxury heritage boutique hotel in Fort Kochi. This is the latest treasure that has been created with great outdoor dining by the sea, one of the only spas that offers both western and traditional treatments in the area, and an infinity pool with great views of the sea and the English style garden. The indoor lounge is fantastic for a relaxing evening. The lighthouse bears witness to many a ship passing by and the ships that sail by seem to walk into the property. The hotel was the residence of the founder of Cochin port Sir Robert Bristow and has been receiving great reviews from all its guests. The hotel is a true sanctuary to relax and rediscover yourself.

Beware of the “Pool view villas”. These are standalone structures in a very run down condition. My spouse and I had to walk out the very moment we stepped in to the room as it was not in a livable condition for us. 1. Visibly dirty bathroom and bathtub 2. Foul smelling and discoloured linen 3. Blood stains on the wall (probably due to swatting mosquitoes) 4. Non-staying guests seated and drinking alcohol in the area right outside the door. Two of the front office staff were considerate to understand the concern. But the front office manager Girish was rude and adamant that the services were impeccable and also said, “you booked the room, you can stay if you wish to or you can leave. But there won’t be a refund”. One of the other staff intervened to help and settled a partial refund. But I am still following up for a full refund as I literally did not stay at the location for more than an hour. The last email I received from the front office said, “As per the management rule we can't provide the balance amount because it includes the booking commission taxes and our cancellation charges.” Feel free to contact us for further clarification.”

We stayed in Old Lighthouse, Kochi thinking that it is a beach property but it is not and actually, they have made it like a roadside bar. we faced the following issues with the room on the ground floor- 1. There was a lizard inside the room. That was found very near to my bag in which food items were kept. On telling the hotel staff they seemed pretty casual about it as if we are living in some jungle. 2. There was no ventilation inside the room and no exhaust in the washroom. It was a gas chamber throughout our stay 3. The linen and curtains are also not that good and old, they were smelling 4. There is also no privacy for a couple immediately outside the room (same wall of the room) there is a sitting area for bar where people continue smoking and drinking throughout the day. Not sure if this hotel owner/manager knows about hotel planning and customer privacy 5. The bed was also not good. It’s two different single beds with different-sized mattresses, which was not at all comfortable Never had such a bad experience with any hotel. These guys have some serious issues as for them customer satisfaction means foot. At this price one would get a good 4/5 star property easily. On highlighting all these issues, we decided to not continue our stay with this hotel but do an early checkout on which these guys didn’t even refund the night not stayed. Well done! Keep that money to further spoil other customer’s experience

Aside from the view, there is little while is positive that can be said about this hotel. The property , which has great potential, is totally run-down, suffers from a terrible lack of maintenance as well as the owner's ignorance toward the lack of service being given to guests. My room was located above the kitchen from which loud yelling, music and banging could clearly be heard from 07:00 till midnight, this as if it were not obvious that the noise was a major disturbance for guests. Staff disposed of empty beer bottles by throwing them in a pile under room window at midnight, every night. Many of the room's facilities did not work - half of the light bulbs were burnt out, no water pressure in basin tap etc. etc. I can only recommend NOT staying at this over-priced property.

The location of the hotel is by the sea , We booked a cottage there for two days. The Hotel is managed by a family with a limited staff. When we travelled last year they were really struggling with lack of staff . the rooms are not well kept . No water in the bathrooms. Very dusty . Rooms were dusty with the sheets not changed and looked used. The latch on the door was broken. teh resturant was no different ; poor owner was running around to serve the guests. each order tool more than 45 min to serve, The breakfast is limited and no choices. We ran away from thete as it was relly not in a liveable condition. I feel sorry for the owner. She should get some hospitality partner to get this fixed. Dont get fooled around by the manegment pictures. It really needs attention

I had stayed at this hotel several times before and was therefore looking forward to my first post covid visit. Clearly, the management has changed and so did the hotel. Rather than an quiet oasis by the sea, it now provides entertainment for hordes of youngsters who flock to this place in the evening, drawn by load music and beer. Great for them, but not so much for the residents who may be looking for the comfort and atmosphere that normally comes with a boutique hotel. The breakfast had also been downgraded (undrinkable instant coffee). While we had booked for three nights, we bailed out after the first and headed for more suitable accommodation nearby. To be fair, our room was clean and some of the staff were very kind and helpful. This said, It is sad to see this old gem in Fort Kochi sacrificing its unique qualities, for the sake of a new business model which caters to the drinking crowd who swings by in the evening rather than it its actual hotel guests

. Such a bad experience….The guy who taken the order is good. The rest is just flop. Ordered chicken lollipop and coffee it was not hot. Even if asked about it and they are saying the just made it before . Their service is just like categorising people ………. There was no dips provided us for the starter and even served in a salvage also. Just made my mood unhappy. Will never go again. And keep it up😊

I spent a week in this hotel, and really enjoyed it. The pool is beautiful, my room (King with balcony) was quite comfortable, and the staff was friendly and accomodating. (I left off a star because they did not take a credit card, and this was an inconvenience.) The location of the hotel is great; off the beaten path but you are on the water for great views and sunsets (no beach access.) Nearby are shops and restaurants in walking distance. Kochi is very spread out (airport is more than an hour away) so if you are staying in Kochi, this area is where you want to be!

3 of us girls went on a Sunday evening, the place was crowded but had a beautiful seaview, it has both inside and outside seating. We had the seafood platter- amazing! (Jumbo prawns, fish, mudcrab and rice- 2.5k cost ) though the rice was a little dry every thing else was splendid. Brownie with ice cream was a bummer as the sizzler got the brownie burnt ☹️ They do serve beer. Its a lovely and must visit place

I spent five days here enjoying the ambiance and the pool. It was a wonderful stay and staff was very helpful. The restaurant has some excellent choices. The sunset views are spectacular and there are great restaurants and good shopping within walking distance. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are in Kochin.
