This was a great place to stay. Staff extremely helpful and go out of their way to help, food amazing and excellent value. Great location. Rooms comfortable and the way they are fitted out compliments the ambiance and style of the hotel. Magical dining outside by the pool, with entertainment and a fabulous seafood platter.

We loved staying at this colonial style hotel. Handy for visiting all the tourist destinations which were a short drive away, we also enjoyed walking around the harbour looking at the Chinese fishing nets and doing a bit of shopping. We had a lovely large room with a balcony, overlooking the garden - little touches like the flowers on the...

We happened to stop by cochin on a whim, and although the chinese fishing nets and vasco de gama's tomb were pretty cool, the most memorable thing about Kerala was Old Harbor. We had heard good things about this boutique hotel at an Elle decor party in Bombay from a random designer who was drunk and giving us recommendations. What...

Very attractive boutique hotel in historic building. Large infinity pool, well-designed public areas with open air restaurant serving good quality food. Cabana style rooms off pool area are well appointed. Open air (wall enclosed) shower area in landscaped court is very pleasant. On arrival there were problems with my confirmed reservation; however, management responded extremely well in addressing my concerns.

A small hotel (18 rooms) in a converted heritage property just yards from the Chinese fishing nets, The Old Harbour has much to recommend. The rooms are large and airy, simply but thoughtfully furnished with both AC and ceiling fans. There is a small inner courtyard and a larger garden (mainly given over to the very attractive restaurant) with a...

What a wonderful place with such warm and helpful staff. The Old Harbour is beautifully restored and decorated - the owner has sourced an array of paintings and objet d'art, many of which we coveted! At night, the lanterns and candles illuminating the pool and gardens enhanced the ambience. The food was delicious, and as music lovers, the accompanying playing...

We stayed at The Old Harbour Hotel for 2 nights at the beginning of our tour of Kerala and 1 night at the end. I booked this hotel purely from the good reviews on Trip Advisor and was not disappointed. everything has been pretty much covered in the previous reviews, superb location for viewing the sights in Fort Cochin, the...

We stayed for 2 nights at this hotel at the start of our holiday in mid-January 2013. It was found for us by our Travel Agent, Kerela Connections. What a wonderful start it made to our holiday. Really clean and very comfortable. A wonderful place to be to help to cope with the time difference after the flight. Food was...

After contacting the hotel to reserve our stay, we asked if they could suggest a reliable company regarding the hire of a vehicle and a good driver, Jude at Recepton was most helpful and suggested their senior driver Jossee ( who must be the safest driver in India ) for the requested time, he also advised how our trip in...

cochin is more bustling that i expected, and this small hotel was a great place to get away from it all while being in the heart of it all. the room - actually the suite - was large and well decorated and restful. meals in the garden were slow and relaxing. the staff was helpful. all was good.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
At the heart of ancient Fort Cochin, Kerala, a place that exudes history and culture, is the 'Old Harbour Hotel'. A 300 year- old building that has for long been a heritage monument of this town, now reopened as a boutique hotel. Built in the Dutch style of architecture with hints of Portuguese influences, it was the first hotel of old Cochin. Later it remained a residential home to employees of English Tea broking firms until it was left unused for a period of time. ... more   less
