I don't write reviews, but I promised the two delightful ladies who own and operate this homestay, so whilst very late, here we go. As always, I think our reactions to holiday accommodations is as much about expectation as it is about the actual key elements. We had already spent a week in Kerala before arriving in Varkala so I...

Nice, quiet, comfortable. Probably one of the best options is you are visiting Varkala for a few days. Esther and Katrina are very friendly and always helping, treating you like a member of their families. Also recommending places to visit, restaurants and arranging transports if needed. The place is very quiet, outside the center of Varkala (so you avoid all...

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Eva Luna. The owners are great people and very helpful. The homestay is off the main road so its very quiet. The rooms are nice and clean. We stayed in the main house which was real nice and there are new rooms in a building out back. Its an easy 10 to 15...

There is a gentle homestay in South India's Varkala, a sort of eye in the middle of the storm, secluded and colourful, and both reserved and welcoming, bearing the singing name of Casa Eva Luna. The grounds were like an oasis for us refugees from the Great White North. Mornings were like an enchantment, having my coffee brought to me...

Perfect place to stay in Varkala. Esther and Katrina are fabulous hosts and the house is so beautiful it's a great place to hang out between excursions. Easy walk to the beach, shops and amenities etc. Great food too. Comfortable rooms. No mosquitos. Cannot praise highly enough.

I spend a week in January 2017 with my two children and their grandparents at Esther and Kathrin's fantastic homestay. It is a real gem. Peacefully, green and with so many small details taken care of by the hosts. For example, I personally love the fact that you can get filter water (also ice cold!) all the day free of...

First time in Asia, having travelled extensively elsewhere, this was my very first stop. Not sure I could've picked better. Lovely clean double room with en suite at a price affordable for solo travellers. Mixed crowd at the homestay, which here was a villa set in the jungle right between the temple and the beach, perfect for all the amenities....

If, like us, you value daily housekeeping, a spotless room, hot showers, unlimited drinking water, great coffee, cold beer and toilet paper (!!) you won't be disappointed. Casa Eva Luna lives up to the excellent reviews and is a super homestay well managed by a friendly English/Spanish couple. It's in a nice quiet (hard to find!) back street and the...

This was my second stay at CEL, first time solo, this time as a couple. Little has changed. It is spotlessly clean, has friendly and helpful owners, the best breakfast I have had in India, lovely dinners, a peaceful location yet only five or so minutes from the hustle and bustle at North cliff. It attracts a nice clientele, it...

I recently stayed at Katrina's homestay with my mom and partner and we had a marvelous time! Katrina was very welcoming and so helpful sharing lots of knowledge about Varkala for exploration and eating — our two favorites! Their home is spectacular & full of color and any amenity you might need. We had breakfast each morning and highly recommend...
