We stayed with Debra at Kaiya House after reading the excellent reviews and we were in the 'India' themed room. Upon arrival we were greeted with a honeymoon gift of fresh flower garlands which was very special. Debra really goes above and beyond to help you get orientated in beautiful Varkala. She took us on the 10 minute walk to...

Kaiya House is a wonderful place for a stay in Varkala. Slightly remote (10 min walk) from the beach, it is a peaceful and elegantly decorated guesthouse. But Kaiya House is mostly remakably wonderful for its host, Debra. Debra (and her great team) takes care of her guests as friends would and is always ready to offer insiders advice on...

Beautiful, faultless homestay in the lovely waterfront town of Varkala. Debra is the perfect host - she made us feel instantly welcome and was always available to give us advice and help with our plans. The house is magnificent - exceptionally furnished and designed, spotless and with all the comforts of home. Breakfast on the roof terrace was a particular...

Kaiya House easily wins best accommodation I stayed in during my four-week trip across southern India. As soon as you arrive, you’re welcomed in and treated like one of the family. The house is stunning with beautiful artefacts from all over the world, the rooms are lovely and comfy, there’s a huge roof terrace and the atmosphere’s calm and relaxing....

I just spent a wonderful 5 nights at Kaiya house. Debra is wonderful. More of a friend than a host. I got to experience the real India with early morning excursions and some late evenings on the balcony passing time. Spotless accomodation close to beach, cliff, cafes. I hired a scooter for the week and it made it easier to...

Fantastic welcome at this lovely house close to the cliffs at Varkala. We were given a really helpful tour of the area which really helped to get our bearings.
