If you love Bali. If you detest mass tourism in Bali. If you want to experience an authentic village in the rain forest, "far from the maddening crowds". And above all, if you like remote, small, personal, comfortable bordering on luxurious, whether your budget is crazy huge or woefully small, the Villa Manuk is still for you. There are only...

After a four hour drive from the airport the last thing I wanted to see was a building site. But that was in the dark and the pile of bricks at the front had nothing to do with what was behind the gate. We awoke in the morning to a small villa set in The beautiful Bali countryside. The staff...

Villa Manuk is a great place to stay in the mountains above Singaraja town. The villa is sourrounded by pyramide-shaped hills. The room with outdoor shower was very nice. Big balcony for late afternoon sunsets. They served food from their own warung/restaurant. On the down side, I have to say that the pool was not inviting.

After a long drive and a few wrong turns we finally arrived at paradise. Staying at Villa Manuk was the perfect place to experience the real Bali, which we love. We spent 5 days there and it was a complete getaway. We walked to nearby villages most days and spoke to friendly locals, visited Sekumpul Waterfall (beautiful), drove to Lake...

Escape from the tourists, the internet, TV, the hectic ness of everyday life and retreat to the peaceful village-like atmosphere of Villa Manuk. I found this place enchanting, just up my alley. Peace and quiet surrounds you except for roosters letting you know they are awake. The Villa is set on the outskirts of a working village. Take long walks...

Although the weather was not always perfect, villa Manuk was a great place to unwind. We ended up extending our stay just because it was perfect for us. If you have your own car as we did it makes staying @ villa Manuk for more than 2 days more enjoyable. The place is surrounded by nature and working farmland, you...

I cannot praise Villa Manuk enough... It is the most relaxing place we have stayed in Bali... Everything just perfect. Note : there is no TV or internet (although a plugin connection is available if you wish to arrange with Beate). This lack of technology was not missed for one minute. The other thing they do not have, is air...

We spend 4 nights here in November 2010 and it was one of three hotels we stayed at in Bali. This was certainly the best from them. This little hotel in a very small village is owned by a German lady and a local. They also own a restaurant on the north coast of Bali which provides the food served...

What a great place. And why did we only stay 3 nights?? That was the only bad planning in our trip. But be aware Beate, we'll be back. Haven't felt so relaxed for a long time. No Internet, no TV, bliss.....beautiful ricefields, great food, stunning nature and last not least the staff. Very attentive, funny and helpful. You shouldn't change...
