I stayed at Nesa for 6 nights with my son. The staff were lovely, from arrival to departure, often stopping to chat with my son. The restaurant at the front was great for breakfast, although after the first morning being able to get French toast for my fussy 5yr old, they were unable to offer it for me again. The room was clean and modern with a air conditioner that kept the room icy cold and refreshing. The only real negative would be the lack of space around the pool for relaxing, and only 4 lounges that were often taken up by other guests that used them all day. The pool itself was great though; perfect temperature, clean, and the large ‘beach’ step was great for my son and for relaxing in. Situated right across the road from the Cat Cafe was a bonus for my son, and we were there most afternoons for a visit and cold drink. …
Stayed only 1 night here, it was beautiful. Julian was super friendly and helpful. Hotel has restaurant at front, breakfast was good. Small bar for refreshments by reception. Pool was beautiful and so very clean..perfect temp. Pool lounges were fabulous too. Rooms were really nice and modern. Area was very quiet set just back from busy road so sleep is easy. Would definitely stay here again.
I booked two rooms from the hotel website, assuming that they will provide 2 double bed (king size bed) rooms. When we checked in, the staff in charge said that they will give us one double bed room and one twin bed room. When I asked for two double bed rooms, he said there was no more double bed room available and that was our fault, because we didn't sent them a note/email that we need 2 double bed rooms. I complaint because they did not mention in their booking website that we have to send an email for having 2 double bed rooms. The staff then looked on his computer and after 20 minutes, he finally gave us two double bed rooms. During that check-in process, we didn't get any "complimentary welcome drink" as mentioned in their website. Furthermore, the staff didn't even show a welcoming gesture. This is quite rare in Bali. I am an Indonesian who live in Jakarta. I have been travelling to Bali more than 30 times. I often take my guests from Canada, US, and other Asian countries to Bali, arrange the trip and book hotels and villas. I have stayed in many places, from five-star hotels to budget hotels around the island. All places have a very friendly staffs. However, the staff in the Nesa check-in counter on that day was suprisingly unfriendly. The staff finally gave us room 201 and 209. The air-conditioning (AC) in room 201 was not working properly. The sheet also had red stain that looked like a blood. After having a terrible night (because the room was so warm at night), I report the AC issue to the same staff. He stupidly said that he knew the AC in that room was not working properly, then he promised to check that out. Until the evening no one came to fix the issue. Then I came back to the reception desk. This time I met another staff and he was very friendly. He asked a technician to came to our room and when he found out that the AC was not working, he said sorry and we were moved to room 103 that have no AC issue. Another room that we book, room 209, had an issue with water drain. You have to be very careful when using the bathroom or you'll having flood in the room. The service in the hotel's restaurant was bad. My friends chose "Big Breakfast" in the menu and asked for scramble eggs. They got sunny side-up eggs instead. The staff was not apologizing, instead she said "Well, I will give you scramble eggs tommorrow." She also told us that they didn't have hash brown, an item that was clearly written in the "Big Breakfast" menu. I chose this hotel after reading many good reviews in TripAdviser. I was surprised that what we had a quite different experience. I guess people who gave good reviews didn't meet the check-in staff that we mentioned above and they didn't stay in rooms that have issues. It has been a long time since I wrote a review for TripAdvisor, although I travel a lot accross the country and abroad. Usually I didn't bother with small stuffs that happen in hotels. Nesa is not a five-stars hotel, so you cannot expect an excellent service. However the customer service in this hotel was really below the standard. It's a pitty because I brought my Canadian friends to show them the beauty of the island and its people. I was ashamed that I chose this hotel for them to stay. Anyway, this hotel is reasonably priced and located in a strategic place. The facility is good and it have small swimming pool. If they can train all of their staff to be aware of the importance of customer service, Nesa can be a perfect place to stay. For you who want to stay here, make sure to give them a note if you want a double bed room before you come and pray that when you check-in, you are served by the friendly staff instead of the unfriendly one.…
I am afraid that this is a hotel I simply cannot recommend. Perhaps I have been spoiled by the wonderful service and hospitality of Indonesian hotels like the Novotel in Bogor, the Phoenix in Jogja, and the Junjungan in Ubud. The Nesa Sanur is reasonably priced and it is in a central convenient location in Sanur. But from the point of check-in, when we were told that a room with a king-sized bed was not available and then the story changed after an unfavourable review was threatened, we were just not treated like welcome guests. The air-conditioning in our room did not work properly (our room was changed the next day), it took several minutes of running the water in the shower for it to finally get hot, one towel only was provided for each person, breakfast items that were on listed the menu were not available two days in a row. Cleaning staff walked by me several times as I sat on the patio outside my room and not one of them said good morning to me (this may seem petty but would never happen in one of the hotels mentioned above). On a very hot afternoon, we waited over 30 minutes in the hotel lobby area, which is outside, for our transport to the airport to arrive (nothing to do with the hotel) and were not offered a glass of water or juice by the front desk staff. In Indonesia, these shortcomings are not only noticeable; they are glaring. With so much reasonably priced accommodation offering first-class service in a highly competitive market, I would suggest that Nesa Sanur needs to do a bit of a review of its service. We will not be back.…
We stayed at this hotel for 5 days and our stay was really good. Whenever we needed to solve anything, the manager Wayan Andi and his team was right there to help us. THANK YOU! The air-conditioning was really good (compared to other hotels)! The pressure of water was good! All the stuff was really friendly and helped with the luggage. The sea is really close and the journey to the sea is along a nice avenue. The breakfast was taste and quite big with at least 5 choices. And across the hotel there is an amassing day spa with yoga classes and massage!
