Forgot to review this after I left so about a year late - sorry! I stayed during Bali Spirit Festival which was a very busy time in Ubud but they managed to accommodate me. Yande and Ketut were always very helpful, making yummy breakfasts, giving me good info, and helping to look after me when I got Bali belly and... More

I think we really stayed at the wrong place. We experienced nothing like what was described below. 1. Paddy field views - the main reason why I chose Brata 1 is because there are supposedly rooms with nice paddy field views. But we got a room with no view. 2. I was informed that it's Rp170,000 but it's actually Rp... More

Wonderful Balinese Homestay in Ubud. Friendly staffs, except for the dog. Located near cafes and shops. You can read books on the terrace and feel peaceful there.

I stayed at Brata 1 with a group of friends. We took 2 rooms between the 5 of us; I stayed at Room 1, which had a spacious patio and large bathroom. Rooms were very clean and simple. There was no hot water in our room but it was not an issue. I loved the atmosphere of the place; it... More

I stayed at Brata and made to feel comfortable immediately by host, Jande. I also met other guests staying also which felt like a community environment. It is clean, comfortable, and right on the town area to enable easy access to all Ubud has to offer. Easy access to The Yoga Barn - The Dirty Duck Restaurant and ceremonies and... More

They are friendly & helpful, and happily sharing the recipe of the yummy breakfats (pancake and toasted bread) with us who joined them in the kitchen. We all loved staying at Brata 1 - after our initial hiccup of not having confirmed our booking with Yande the previous day, everyone was friendly and so helpful to us. Our room was basic (bed & bathroom) but clean, cool and airy - and we appreciate the traditional Balinese decoration / carvings all around us. Everyone enjoyed Yande's banana... More

“There are only 5 rooms in Brata 1 Homestay, so reserve as early as possible to avoid disappointment. 3 out of the 5 rooms are on upstairs (1st floor) with nice view balcony to see over some paddy / rice fields and also the rooftop of the other buildings in Hanoman street. *Roofs of Ubud villages that consists of only short houses and temples make a beautiful scenery too. 2 other rooms are on the ground floor which you will have a open are in front of your room for catching up with the owner's family, dogs and also other tourist that by pass your room. The open area is more than sufficient for you to practise yoga, meditation and do nothing there.”
