Looking out into the picturesque valley it's very hard to believe that you are on the outskirts of the noisy and bustling Ubud.

There are steps, lots of steps, to be clear the resort is built on the side of a valley. The main pool with a little bar is at the bottom of the resort so if you have mobility issues look for something else, there are no lifts etc.. unfortunately it simply isn't going to work for you here.

The room was large with a great view of the valley and well appointed, air conditioning was good. Staff were generally very helpful, our bags were carried down to the room for us.

Food was very good, we ate at the elevated main restaurant one evening. The included breakfast was also very decent, it's ordered off a menu rather than buffet style which makes a nice change. Wifi was a little patchy but in any case everyone buys a cheap 4G sim from the airport these days don't they?

Taxi's are expensive from the resort. There is a free hourly shuttle bus provided in and out of Ubud during the day which is good. Otherwise expect to pay 50,000rp each way with a local taxi. We discovered a local taxi a short walk up the road who then looked after us for little cost during our stay.

You could easily use this resort as a place to relax as much as a launch pad for exploring Ubud and it's surrounds. I probably won't revisit but this is more of a reflection on Ubud itself rather than the Ulun Ubud resort which is really quite a nice place to be.

We were told that Ulun Ubud was one of Bali's oldest resorts. As a result of the property's age, one would expect out-of-date furnishings. Vintage furniture has its own allure, so I won't compare it to newer resorts. If you enjoy vintage old charm, this is the place for you. From reception to drivers to restaurant staff to engineers, everyone was friendly and polite. They truly give you the hospitality of the friendly people of Bali. The property was built on strata land so most of the rooms can be access via stairs. There are two pools near the bottom. Due to the covid and low occupancy, both pools were closed, with the exception of the one above near the reception (with superior room categories having direct access to the pool from the rooms), and the rest of the guests are welcome to use the pool.

The restaurant's breakfast buffet was excellent. You can have either coffee or tea. You will also receive a selection of juices (Mango, Orange, and Gave), 1 x main course, and fruit to round out your breakfast. I enjoy the chicken porridge because it is simple but delicious. If you're staying for an extended period of time, do try a different main course.

Ulun Ubud is a pocket of pure tranquility set amidst the jungle - everywhere you look the views are postcard worthy!
This was our second time staying, and I was equally as impressed as the last time. We stayed in a Suite Pool Villa and it was superb. Very private, sliding French doors on to our balcony which overlooked the jungle and river, and generously sized. The finishes were luxe and the rain shower head was a great bonus. The amenities were incredibly clean and well appointed.
Staff are attentive, professional and so helpful. As soon as we arrived we were given a welcome drink and our suitcases whisked away to our room for us. Complimentary shuttles run throughout the day in to the CBD, simply book with reception.
The restaurant is lovely, with a varied menu. We had room service and ate at the restaurant, all the meals are fresh and perfectly made (with vegetarian options). The included breakfast was outstanding, fresh fruits, pastries, juices, coffee/tea and your choice of a main meal.
I love overseas travel and I have done a lot of it, and can safely say that Ulun Ubud is one of the most beautiful places I’ve stayed at. 5 stars, would recommend!

The hotel Ulun Ubud Resort is truly a piece of heaven. I arranged for the hotel to pick my BF and I up from the airport. Unfortunately our flight arrived an hour later and it took us almost an hour to clear customs. The hotel driver was waiting front row center with a big sign with our names and greeted us with a big smile. This meant so much to us since it was almost midnight. Everyone was so helpful when we got to the hotel. They helped us with our luggage and we were able to rent a scooter with them.

We woke up to the most amazing view. The room was a good size with a beautiful tube and good size comfort king size bed. We were also located right by the pool. It was so peaceful and quite. There are a lot of stairs but the all have the most amazing views. We did not mind them at all.

The breakfast was really good and the staff were very nice. The hotel is located very close to the shopping area and a lot of very good restaurants are in walking distance. We only wish we could have stayed longer than the two days we stayed.

The hotel is on multiple steps and elevations (no lift). Our room was luckily on the top level so if you're someone that has knee problems, we recommend requesting a room at the top. It was convenient that a staff member took our luggage to the room.

We rented a villa with a pool. It was a bit outdated. The windows in the patio area did not close all the way as well as the windows leading to the pool. There is only one AC unit in the room, which can only turn on with the hotel key. Only 1 key (actual key) was provided so when we came back to the room, we put in the key to turn the AC on, which took a while. No AC in bathroom and toilet/shower area. The breakfast was good. You choose one main, one starter, one juice and were provided bread, butter/jam, croissants; pretty decent portion. All of the breakfast area is open concept and not very clean.

We did encounter a lizard in our room that escaped and hid when we called hotel staff to remove it. There didn't seem to be bug treatment on outside of the rooms as there was small bugs that crept in the villa.

The reason we stayed here was for convenience (closer to Mt. Batur [1 hour ride], Room4 dessert, our cooking class, and a few spas and laundromats). We ended up leaving early because it wasn't what we were expecting.

This is probably the most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed in. The pictures don't do it justice. When we arrived and saw our surroundings we were really mindblown. Incredible that you walk down a driveway and you're on a busy Ubud street and just a short walk away this paradise hides.
Luckily we don't have any mobility issues.. We were in Deluxe Suite 208 (the Rosie room). It's on the very bottom level of the hotel so we got to do every single stair when we wanted to go up the main lobby or the restaurant. It's a bit rough; even if you're in shape. Stop a long the way for photo breaks so ppl don't know you're about to have a heart attack, lol.

The food in the restaurant was good. Not amazing but good (we were maybe spoiled by our previous hotel in the food department). The espressos, cappucinos etc are amazing and are not included in your breakfast which was a little on the cheap side in my opinion. One thing we would have really loved was if room service opened early (they only open at 11) to be able to have a quiet breakfast or a non-instant coffee on our beautiful jungle balcony.

Also, we ordered room service dinner one night and they said they'd be back to collect the dishes.. They didn't come back till past noon the next day so our balcony table was covered in dirty dishes and eventually flies and ants. It would have been nice to have a prompt clean up. Not a huge crisis but a bit annoying.

We each had a 4 handed massage and it was INCREDIBLE. Highly recommend. A little more expensive than a street massage obviously but still worked out to about $45 USD- much much cheaper than that service at home.

The rates here are very reasonable for what you get. The view will change your soul, honestly. We slept with the doors wide open which was beautiful, as long as you're cool with roosters and all kinds of birds early AM. I would definitely recommend. Location is great too, about a 25 minute walk to central Ubud, but there are many restaurants, bars, scooter rentals, ATMs etc all within a couple of steps from the main entrance.

We are a family of three, (with one teenage child) and stayed for 3 nights. It was soooo good! It is a little pricey but well worth it as the service, the breakfast, cleanliness and all round gorgeousness of the place is exceptional. We spent a full day just laying by the pool, gazing at the lush green valley drifting off to the distant sound of roosters and gamelan.
There were quite a few families with young children staying, so there is low-key, friendly vibe to the place. The gardens are beautifully kept, but there really are a lot of steep steps (as it is built on the side of a hill) so if you struggle with steps it will be tricky.

I checked in this hotel in the month of December with my wife.
There were lizards in the room, not normal or ordinary lizards. Huge lizards (approx 1 feet long) making loud noises. When we asked them to change the room, they have excuses that it is a tropical resort, its ordinary in Bali. We still insisted on changing the room, they gave us a new room of inferior quality, though we paid for a deluxe one. There were lizards there as well. On complaints, they used to come and kill them and say "now no problem". We wanted to change the hotel but they did not consider for any refunds. Moreover, for our peace we thought of letting go the money, and find another hotel. But the wifi in the hotel wasn't working. Excuse was, its under maintenance.
What is the use of a good place of there is no mental peace there even when you sleep. All total a terrible experience.
I would suggest a stay there only if you are ok with huge lizards roaming around.

We stayed at Ulun Ubud for 7 nights and had a scooter to get around. The scooter was handy given Ulun is around 3 klm from Ubud town centre. We stayed on one on the pool rooms at the top of the resort. This was close handy to the reception, bar and restaurant. One tip would be to get a second level room as you can hear people thumping on the floors from the lower level. The room was great, having all we needed. The resort offers pick ups and drop off into Ubud 3 times a day complementary. Breakfast was pretty good value and quality. We dined for dinner one night only, there were better options close by and in Ubud proper. We would stay again, but request a second level room.

Ulun Ubud Resort, loved every moment there. We booked a suite which fortunately was close to reception. Because of the area, the place is build on a hill with the most beautiful views.
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
The place is well kept with clean bedding and towels. The shower was one of the best that we came across
The day we were leaving from there was our 38th wedding anniversary, they went out of their way to make it special for us.
I'll recommend this place anytime

I'm not sure about the Halal food options as I wasn't keeping an eye out for that, so I can't answer that I'm sorry. The shuttle buses run once an hour, up to 5pm, both ways (to and from Ubud centre) There is a safe in the room There are mosquito nets. Best wishes
