I've stayed at this hotel with my parents twice - once in 2014 and once in 2016. It was then known as Kenanga. I hope that the name change doesn't impact anything else, because our stays were both so perfect. The staff are SO attentive and friendly. The service is really amazing. You're welcomed with warm smiles every morning, and...

Thank you so much for your very good reviews. In fact we are very happy to welcome our guests as "family", our staff are very kind and professional as many Balinese people. The name change in May but we are already here almost 2 years. All the staff work here for the begin so don't worry, we just change the...

Stayed at hotel for 2 nights, the place is fantastic and unique, rice field right at the backyard, relaxing and refreshing. When we finished roaming around ubud, we always stoped by terracota restaurant at the hotel to get some desserts. And waht desserts! Must try the profiteroles. Overall great experience, something you dont get even at five stars.

We stayed in one of the lovely cottages for three nights. The staff are very friendly and Karin introduced herself to us on our arrival. It's a very tranquil place to relax in. The pool area is wonderful and the room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was lovely and we enjoyed a delicious evening meal at the restaurant....

This is the hotel you imagine when you think of staying in Ubud. The view across working rice paddies is amazing as our the rooms, quiet amazing. The infinity pool across the rice paddies, the bean bags by the rice paddies and the general setting are all amazing. Staff are friendly and efficient. The hotel is too far out of...

It is our second stay at the Mathis retreat (Kenanga last year) and the manageress; Karne, has maintained a charming atmosphere with excellent food, very kind staff and excellent service. While stilll close to Ubud, the hotel surrounding is peaceful with rice fields mixing lush greens with mirror images of the sky. The swimming pool is large enough to play...

We treated ourselves to a night here to escape the busy Ubud centre. It's gorgeous. The rice field views, the beautiful swimming pool and the elegant restaurant. The rooms are comfortable with a modern Balinese design. The owner spent time to introduce herself after breakfast and part some helpful knowledge. We hope to be back!

I really liked this hotel, we booked under the name Kenenga boutique hotel. The staff were amazing and called us by name from the start. The manager Karin, who is French, was very helpful in suggesting restaurants and tours to do. The place was very clean. Just a short ride into the city centre, $6 dollars Australian. Very cheap. The...

We stayed a total of 8 nights in Mathis retreat, locally known as Kenanga. We booked a room/bungalow that was a bit more luxury. It was a very nicely decorated and spacious room with a good bed. The breakfast was nice, especially the baker's selection (croissant, pain au chocolat and toast), but after 8 nights we would have liked to...
