I come to visit Ubud every year and always stay in Griya Jungutan. It is conveniently located near the Ubud center. This year due to Covid-19, there are not many foreign tourists on the street. I am an expat in Jakarta, so I am able to fly to Bali.
The place is very quiet and peaceful. We stayed for 4 nights and had a wonderful time in Griya Jungutan. Staff are very nice and helpful. Breakfast is delicious with fresh eggs and pancakes. Good value in Ubud.
I booked on Booking.com and then changed my dates via email. I should have confirmed that they would adjust my charge, but I didn't and paid for 7 days instead of the 3 that I stayed. The fan was fine, but because I was hot and had so many bug bites I did have a hard time sleeping. The beds weren't great. It is really a cute little place in a great location.
We booked 3 nights at first and after the first night we booked 2 more nights without hesitation. Everything was perfect here. Rooms were great, location is wonderful, staff is awesome here. Breakfast was lovely with a perfect ocean view. Highly recommended. We will come back here any time.
Sometimes you are fortunate to find a place that is what you want. For us it was Griya Jungutan. It was our first visit to Ubud in many years. Our room had a very nice view overlooking the river jungle. Staff came to clean our room very day. They are super nice and are very helpful. The property is very quiet away from the busy street, but is located in a great location with shopping and eateries within a very short walk. The morning breakfast was excellent and is served in an open area overlooking the garden and pool. The pool is nice for us cool off after we return each day. A great value for the price!
We enjoyed our stay here. It's tucked away in an alley so it's quiet at night but right by the main road so we were able to walk everywhere. They were also super accommodating. The room was clean, the freshly cooked breakfasts were yummy (choice of banana crepes, noodles, porridge, eggs plus fresh fruit), and the staff were lovely. Great value. Highly recommended!
We are very happy with our stay. Many other homestays are in crowded Ubud neighborhoods, this place has its own quiet area surrounded by big tropic trees, with one-side facing a small river jungle. The room is clean and comfortable. Only 5 minutes walk to main street restaurants and 10-15 walk to Market or Monkey Forest Park. We especially like their fresh (hot) breakfast every day as staff cook right in front us. They arranged the airport pickup for us as we arrived after mid-night for a late check-in. We would come back again!
We stayed in the double room which was quiet and comfortable overlooking the river. We loved the location and how the home-stay is only a short walk to the main areas of Ubud and many restaurants and shops. Breakfast was nice but repetitive and the staff who we did see were lovely and helpful. Unfortunately, after all the positive reviews we read we were disappointed with our choice of accommodation, there are better options nearby. The bathroom in our room especially needs some major updating as there was mildew on the tiles/walls, the shower in the bath was just a drizzle and the room had no door, just a flimsy curtain. The room is also lacking a fridge and room safe. We didn't swim in the pool as it looked unclean and murky the 5 days we stayed there. We didn't feel the home-stay was value for money, so sadly we wouldn't recommend.…
We stayed for a week and had a wonderful stay here. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is delicious with many choices. The double room is very comfortable overlook the river jungle. We felt we live right in the nature. The home-stay is nicely situated with walking distance to most restaurants and shops in Ubud. Would definitely recommend and stay again!
This accomodation was totally disappointing and overpriced. The standard rooms were not clean - lots of dead insects, hair of earlier guests, mildew at the walls, dirty bedlinen, cockroaches in bathtoom and the toilet brush - better do not ask. Moscito net didn't fit over bed, one room hadn't any net. Bathrooms had no door, only curtains. All in all, the rooms (I had to changed my first due to double booking) and also the whole facilities were skanky, foul water in pool and so on. Further recommendations are little old, things must have change...Better avoid.
