I may return to Bali for the sole purpose of staying at this hotel again. Service is understated, warm. Physical environment is lush, green, comforting. Rooms are comfortable, spacious, clean. Breakfasts enjoyable. It's a bit of a walk to town, but the hotel is very accommodating with rides.

All I can say is that this hotel is wonderful. We stayed one night in the Jatayu Garden View room on our way to Amed and wished we could have stayed longer. On booking I was dissapointed to find that all of the rice paddy view rooms were full, but on arriving into our villa (the room is more like...

We stayed here for four nights. We booked through their own website and got prompt and fast replies throughout. The staff is their best asset and the breakfast comes close second. The shuttle service is irreplaceable. We loved the outdoor shower and space in the Jatayu room. The hotel was fully booked while we were there, so I'd advice to...

One of the best hotels we've stayed at across the world. Wonderful rooms, nice pool, friendly people. If it happens to rain (and it will) spend the time in the pool. Great grounds, and walks, and a pleasant walk into Ubud (don't let the monkeys scare you, and don't feed them or you'll never be rid of them.) It helped...

Better late than never… My wife and I just noticed that the review we wrote about the hotel we liked the most of our April 2011 trip to Bali had not been published (I must have made a bubu when I sent it). Because we feel that the Alam Jiwa hotel in Ubud should get the publicity it deserves we...

My partner and I spent 4 nights in the Garuda room which featured an amazing bathroom (partly open), huge and clean room and a stunning veranda over looking the rice padi fields. Excellent breakfast and awesome afternoon tea & cake. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Really impressed with the shuttle service into Ubud given that the hotel is...

This hotel is lovely, with friendly and efficient staff and gorgeous rooms set in a peaceful jungle setting. The breakfast was yummy, we took it each day on our top balcony with a view to the rice paddies. You feel very close to nature here. Our room had a few little 'quirks' eg. hot and cold water taps were reversed,...

My partner took me to Ubud for my 50th birthday. We spent 5 nights in Alam Jiwa and could have stayed many more. The place, people and location were beautiful. Our room was large, clean, private and surrounded by a stream and a beautiful garden and overlooked rice paddies. Each morning after having an outdoor shower (wonderful), we had our...

We have been going to Bali since 1997 and Alam Indah and its sister hotel Alam Jiwa are our favorite places to stay. The hotels are built in traditional Balinese style and are set in beautiful surroundings. Staff are very helpful and attentive and the location is close enough to town to walk but far enough away that you feel...

Four of us stayed in the Cendrawasih house (sadly for only 2 nights). It was cool, very clean, well set up, beautiful quiet location next to the small river and the rice fields, the open-air shower is great, very friendly and helpful staff, very relaxing communal pool area. Breakfast is excellent, delicious, and delivered to your room if you order...
