Was over priced to what we had payed to stay in somewhere much nicer. Room was clean enough but we only had a small, crusty (sorry it's the best word to describe it) blanket. We regularly saw rats running around and the communal toilet never had paper nor a bin to put paper in so was a bit of a...

We stayed there in May 2015. Rooms are not very clean, cockrouches drop by. We had so-called VIP room for reasonable money. Staff is friendly, breakfast is included and is eatable. Small bathroom. Windows in the room are not opening. There is tv in the room with 1 or 2 english channels. For plus thre is free wi-fi.This place is...

We stayed here for 1 night as we had a flight to catch. We chose this hotel because it was recommended in our guide book and in our budget. After walking for ages we found the hostel we were told that none of the cheap rooms were available and only VIP rooms were left. It was pouring with rain outside...

On 12 Nov 2014, we stayed in this 'hotel'.The stay had given us such nightmarish experience which remains unforgettable. An unlicensed taxi operator who picked us from new Gubeng Train Station drove us to your hotel at around 11:30pm. As we were quite tired already, we decided to lodge there for a night. We were shown a list of rooms...

Friendly staff at reception, incredibly the whole place was booked out except one room, which we took. The hotel is still under renovation, with wires sticking out of the wall and tools and cleaning supplies strewn over all 4 floors of the hotel! Sheets weren't the cleanest and the room was small but the AC works, as does the TV...

They're currently renovating/remodeling, and I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and a chance. Maybe if you're in the area in a year, after they're done remodeling, have a look around the hotel and at your room before you decide whether you want to stay. So, they are remodeling and I hope perhaps in the future the...

I stayed on the top floor. The room and sheets were clean, and I had an attached shower. The shared toilet however looked as if it hadn't been cleaned for months. Good wifi, TV working and air conditioning in good order. The staff don't know anything about the town and were really unhelpful. I read in a previous review from...

Arriving in Surabaya after 10pm we were looking for a room and told ourselves not to be too critical. Arriving at the Sparkling Backpackers hotel we should not be expecting too much for the price charged, but when we looked closely, we got more than initially expected... Broken furniture, dirty sheets, ants, construction materials across the several floors, sigarettes... We...

I was at this hotel the first days of januari and did check it on tripadviser before, but was to stubborn and decided to go anyway. I had a room on the fourth floor (no elevator) and the floor was covered with long black hair (wich isn't mine) and the bed had them too. The tv doesn't work, but the...

The best part of this hostel is the location is 5 minutes away to train station. So if you're heading to Jogja and Bandung this will be easy. At night, in front of the hostel there is a hawker selling fried rice and also coffee stall. Surabaya Plaza also is just nearby to hostel. In terms of room, it was...
