Having white husband, we often feelings bit intimidated by people staring at us. But in Kings Hotel, both staff and the guest just treat us like normal person.

Room is very big, clean and newly renovated. Hallway very clean, no stale smells of carpet.

Breakfast spread is satisfying, proper coffee from proper machine (yaiy....).

Kids club is our daily destination after breakfast and before dinner, as the kids love to "school" there. Just little bit too small, maybe they should move the kids club to pool area so it can cater more kids :)

Sufficient nature and outdoor area, so we don't just stuck in the room or lobby, we enjoy walking within the hotel to pick leaves, flower and sticks without scared by traffic.

Swimming pool is very basic and nothing fancy, but the water is very very clean and always warm.

If you don't feel like eating from hotel restaurants, there lot of stall next to the hotel selling food or just grab food deliver to the Lobby.

We might stay here again when we back to Batam.

Staff Darma and Kenzi from reception was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfy, aircon was strong. Can heard people talking at the corridor. Wifi was weak most of the time. Location have to take grab to anywhere. Fare is reasonable fm 20k to 50k within 10mins ride. Dont waste time on breakfast unless if you want to fill some food in your stomach. Overall still recommended for this hotel for the pricing.

Stayed here with my partner over the CNY weekends. location not too far from place like Nagoya Hill Mall etc. staff is very helpful and friendly. Room looks abit oldish but otherwise, the bed is pretty comfy and spacious. The view from the top of this hotel is just amazing. Breakfast was mainly local food but was delicious. Have breakfast outdoors, the view is so pretty ! I know they have a spa in the hotel and a rooftop bar/restaurant but i did not
manage to find the time to go up and try. For its price, definitely a good place to return to if i am in Batam !

Service staff is not fluent in English, making communication a bit of a problem. Suppose to check in at 1400hrs but we arrived at 1600hrs and was told only 1 room is available. The 2nd room have to wait 30mins. Waited 1hr and still room not ready. Then we went for dinner and came back around 2200hrs. Was given room but condition is terrible. Tv was not plugged in, screw on the door handle is loose, so is the screw on the bathroom hanger. No safe in the room. Worst of all, the bedsheets have stain marks on it. Travel to shopping have to take a cab. 60000 to 75000 for cab fare 1 way. Really not worth it. Breakfast sucks big time. Limited dishes and food is cold. Regret staying there.

Upon checking out the uncouth philistines told me that a towel was missing from my hotel room and I'd stolen it. They demanded to check my bags and I agreed; low and behold it wasn't there!
If this rotten place burned to the ground in a terrible fire I wouldn't relieve my nether regions to put it out!

Everything about the hotel leaves much to be desired. We were in a group of over 200 people in the hotel for a retreat. The hotel was on a very steep slope so our 26 seater coach bus could not go down into the lobby level. An old lady injured her legs walking down the very steep slope. She was still felling the pain after a couple of days. We were assigned smoking floor even though we have requested for non smoking. Most of us got sick during the 3 days stay there due to the bad air, which also wafes into our room. The rooms are quite spacious but the beddings and towels are stained even after changing. The rooms are not sound proof. People walking and talking as they walked through the corridors can be heard very clearly. Whenever the next room guests uses the toilet, we can hear the flushing, washing, etc very clearly, as though they were in our room. The food tastes bad. The choices were limited. There were only like 6 dishes, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner. The food amount catered was also not enough. The whole hotel has 10 levels served with only 2 lifts. Those lifts can take about 6-8 people at anytime. Imagine when our group leaves the same time, it takes forever to go back to your room or to the serving restaurants. This is a hotel not ready to take up big groups of guests.

Remember, if you use online transport such grab or gocar becarefull because in batam there’s conflict between traditional and online... If you want safe transport use taxi, hotel transport or taxi (blue bird-you can download in playstore or app store)
