We came to Mapia after spending 7 days in Onong - on a nearby tiny Siladen island. We have had some good coral wall diving there and were looking for something new. And yes, we got it! Dark sand, strange creatures on the sand and sooo many nudibranches! This is definitely the place for people who like searching for small...

This is a lovely resort right south of Manado. It is a great place to stay if you want to visit either Bunaken maritime part or the inland of northern Sulawesi, or both. The huts a spacious and clean, situated under very nice large old trees, food is very good and the manager (Stefano) of Mapia resort is actually the...

I spent a week on my own at Mapia resort. The staff were very attentive and friendly, from the pickup at the airport, the team on the dive boats and the team on shore. The food was incredible, fresh and plentiful and beautifully served. The spa treatments were amazing and the resort was well appointed in tropical gardens. A very...

Before my visit I was a little bit unsure about the place especially the services and environment. But after arrival I was surprised how clean the Rooms are. And it was big and nice. My daughter loves it and ask me if we could stay longer time here. Excellent atmosphere, familiar environment nice staffs. Definitely recommend for everybody.

If you are looking for muck and makro you are in the right place if you come to Mapia Resort. The guides find the strangest and rarest nudibranchs, crabs, shrimps, lobsters .... everything! Also everybody is very friendly and professional. Food is a nice mix of indonesian-italian-international and tasty with a good variety every day. Garden and pool are lovely,...

To begin with, the hotel is far from Perfect (see the preceding TA review). I think the comments on TA are better than what the actual property is. I was a little underwhelmed when I arrived and even more underwhelmed when I saw my room which was too basic for the price we paid. The property is not very well...

I spent almost two weeks at the Mapia Resort, which has recently changed management. A change for the better! The hotel sits in a lush garden with a nice swimming pool directly on the ocean, about 20 minutes outside of Manado. The cabins that are built in the local style are spacious and clean, they have hot water, a/c and...

Mapia and it's sister resort Onong @ Siladen offers free Nitrox and excellent service for diving. The dive guide has superb spotting skills and probably has the personal phone number of all the pygmy sea-horse in Manado/Bunaken. The staffs there are friendly, extremely accommodating and are keen to make your stay as enjoyable as they can. The hotel has working...
