Living abroad made me and my husband always take advantage of our summer holidays for vacation in Indonesia to be able to gather with my entire Indonesian family. This holiday in 2024 we decided to try one of the hotels in Medan, the Radisson Medan for the first time, after trying the Cambridge and Adimulia hotels from year to year. There are some constraints that my family and I encountered, but not too prolonged in the ‘sufficient’ service. Overall, my family and I were very satisfied with the services provided by Frengki while me and my family dined at the hotel restaurant, the food was delicious as well. There are some staff in the housekeeping department who are also very pleased to provide very satisfactory service.

I actually went in November, but I am slow to write reviews. Honestly, I have always had great experiences here (been twice). Any issues have always been small things, things that will happen from time to time. The staff are polite and helpful, the building itself is nice, and I enjoy the food.

Nice bed.
But we read online that there was both indoor and outdoor pool, and spa/wellness. There was not any of it.
The outdoor pool was closed because it was not clean, they did not have an indoor pool and the spa/wellness was just a simpel bathtop like the one in our room, and to tables for massage if you would like to pay for it of course.

The Radisson Medan is conveniently located - a fair walk from the Central Station (although walking through Medan traffic may mean you have a serious death wish!). The room was clean and large. I was never able to connect to hotel's wifi, even though I got help from hotel technical services. Had to use mobile data.
Breakfast buffet was large, but they didn't keep the things full. Lots of the things - pastries, eggs, juice, coffee - were empty. And the juice was fake. That's simply an unforgivable sin in a country like Indonesia with so much wonderful fresh fruit!

I am very disappointed with the level of service and professionalism of this hotel. The quality of the bathroom was bad. I was in room 723. The room was not revamped as per what my admin shared that recently Radisson did a refurnished of the hotel. The bathroom shower head - low pressure. The sink drainage is also taking long time to be drained. The air con could not be adjusted, and it was too cold to sleep in the room (having sleepless night for all 3 nights). When, I asked for adapters over the phone. Service person mentioned that they will check but did not call back to update. I could not use my adapter as my adapter does not fit into the sockets. I could only use one 3 pin socket to charge my phone and could not use it for other appliances.

The location of hotel is strategic, easy to found. There is not many food choices at breakfast. the swimming pool is very narrow. The water pressure in the shower is not very strong, but it is good enough. No google TV in deluxe room.

We stayed there for 8 days at the one bed-room suite, back at around mid November 2021.
The room was spacious & very clean. My wife & kids loved it & we were so pleased that we then recommend the hotel to our other families visiting Medan,that they also stayed there in the other 3 rooms & all shared the same experience about their stay.
There was an "incident",where somene (hotel's staff) had entered our room to put a fridge without our knowledge when we were not inside the room,despite that we turned on the "privacy/do not disturb" sign.After submitting our complain the reception desk politely apologized for the incident on behalf of the hotel & promised to findout and later update us about it.
Some staffs at the reception seems giving mediocre service,but Kudoz & Hands-down to the other staffs, notable to mention,they are:
* Ms Imelda and Mr Fuad at the reception,
for the very warm smile & greeting us everytime we passed by,very flawless reservation process,communication & proactiveness on updating things we asked for a help,taking our complain on the "incident" with post event update later on.
* Ms Ira Pardede at the breakfast restaurant,
for her proactiveness on ensuring everything's fine with our breakfast.
* The security team at the lobby,
that welcoming guess warmly as well.
Finally, the overall experience we had was execellent & we highly recommend this hotel for those looking to stay at a hotel with very comfortable & clean room located at the city center of Medan.

We stayed at the Radisson Medan over Christmas with my mobility-challenged mother. The lobby valets headed by Dhani helped her on the steps daily and hauling her in & out of her wheelchair. :) The reception staff also obliged us by putting a chair in the shower for her. Lidya, Yuliana, & Julius helped us plan daily trips, booked us spa visits and even assisted with money-changing - thank you, Julius ! The rooms were very comfortable, large & offered a broad range of international channels. Pretty glass water bottles put in daily. Tiny peeve, housekeeping was not consistent with replenishing toiletries e.g showercaps, but one call to reception solved the problem. Breakfast needs improving, the spread was rather basic. Otherwise, the hotel is in a very central location, near the new Podo Moro Mall & JW Marriot. Most of all, it was the staff who made our visit special :) We had a great stay and rate the Radisson one of Medan's best.

Our stay in the hotel was a really positive experience. All the staff at reception , the main entrance, the restaurant and cleaning were extremely polite and very helpful. The hotel itself was very well positioned to access the nearby malls, markets and tourist attractions. it was also very clean , modern and the breakfasts every day had lots of choice, very varied and very tasty. 2 out of 4 of my family are vegetarian, and we had plenty to choose from.
Although we did not get their names unfortunately, the daily cleaning staff were , quick efficient and did a great job in cleaning our rooms.
The receptionists were so helpful especially Yuliana and Anisa. They helped us so much with everything, and nothing seemed a problem for them. They were courteous and always made us feel very welcomed.

You can take taxi from Airport which cost approximately 200.000 to 300.000. Or you can order grab on your arrival. The Other option you can take railink train from Airport to Medan Train Station and from Train station by Taxi to Radisson Medan. The Last Option is you can take Damri Bus to Medan Fair Station and from Medan Fair to Hotel by Taxi or Grab.
