Best hotel in Medan. We enjoyed our stay so much. The staff was wonderful and the hotel facilities are fantastic - the spa pools are especially wonderful. We also had the best sleep here out of all the hotels we stayed at in Medan and wished we stayed here more nights.Convenient location with a huge mall just diagonally across the road too. If we ever return to Medan, we will definitely stay here again!

Very suprise because the manajemen of this hotel make me guest of the day Very satisfied when stay here. Room very clean and All employee very profesional. 1000 thumb for this hotel. From check in until check out a very very very excelent service. Front office, house keeping, restourant, swimming pool so wonderfull , thanks a lot . Next time Will visit again :)

We booked a corner executive room with lounge access. Checked in on the app. Arrived to a room over 30 degrees with no AC at 1730 after long process at checkin counter. After complaining we moved rooms after dinner. New room was better but only just bearable the entire hotels AC system is very poor. There is no AC in the lifts or floor hall ways. Condition of the hotel in general is old, unmaintained and very tired. Maybe when new this was a JW. But no longer even close.

The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. A big thanks to Simon Andika who went above and beyond to help me. The food is delicious and I really enjoyed the atmosphere and had a wonderful experience during my stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to others.

I have stayed at the JW Marriott Medan on quite a few occasions since it first opened in 2009, but not since 2018. Currently it is a poor value choice in Medan. Issues: 1) the aircon is not cold. This is a dealbreaker for a hotel for me in the tropics and despite sending an engineer they were not able to fix it, and hotels costing 1/5 of the price have better aircon. 2) the mattress protectors are lumpy. I initially pointed this out to the first person who I mentioned the air con issue, and he claimed that it was a feature of the bed. After I removed the sheet I found it was actually a problem with the mattress protector. I mentioned it to another staff member and they explained that it is because of tumble drying and most of the mattress protectors are like this. However they did change it for a better one. This is just unacceptable service. If the mattress protectors are ruined by tumble drying they need to buy new mattress protectors, this is just a bad joke for a 5* hotel. 3) The breakfast is not great, ok it has never been, but the price of the hotel has crept up and there is nothing luxurious in the breakfast, not worth it. 4) there are only three lifts for 29 floors, this has been a problem since day 1 but again with higher pricing now this is not good enough. 5) the room is 15 years old now and many original features and starting to get dated. For example the toilet is no longer up to standard for 5* Indonesian hotel. 6) facilities like coffee/tea in the room just not so great, and the minibar also now empty. 7) We asked for bath foam, they said yes, but it turns out they don't have any, only bath salts. Actually the hotel is not terrible, but now there are many new hotels since the JW Marriot first opened which offer good standards for half the price or less. The lack of cold air con is just an unforgiveable crime for me. They know the air con is not cold. But they don't do anything about it. I was actually slightly surprised that nobody in the hotel seemed to recognize me, because I have been here over 15 years so normally someone would recognize me. However in a venue in the city the next day, a man recognized me and said that he used to work in the JW Marriott until recently and that they had a new general manager who had caused many staff to leave.…

this is a nice hotel in a good part of the city of Medan. It's location is very good since it is so close to the Dilli Park Mall.... It's a 29 story hotel, so very large, with only three lifts, so there could be a wait for the lift...we stayed on the 25th floor with a nice view of that area of Medan. Staff was friendly and helpful, the room was very comfortable. Wi-Fi wasn't terrible, but didn't always work very well for us. Food was good.

The hotel is lovely, and staff are very pleasant. Rooms are big and comfortable and we managed to book connecting rooms. Used the gym which was nice, clean and looked very new. There is a huge mall just across the junction outside the hotel. But, crossing the junction is dangerous. While we managed to do so, I really hope some form of pedestrian crossing or overhead bridge can be constructed at that junction.

We attended a conference and stayed 3 nights on the 25th floor. The room was clean and comfortable. Spacious gym on the 17th floor . The breakfast selection was excellent. Friendly and helpful staff.
