Hotel was modernly designed with vibrant colors and equipped with free wifi up to the room. It was conveniently located above a supermarket. Room was comfortable with no carpet. Hot and cold water is located outside the room walkway. No safety box, mini bar or hairdryer is provided inside room. Breakfast and lunch was tasty. Service is quick if required from the room. Their bath towels are mildly scented and very comforting. Crave for night life and hang out? there is a drinking bar called Champion just 10 minutes walking. Nearest shopping mall is 20 minutes away and must need transport such as Grabcar to brave the Medan traffic jam.

My partner and I spent our last night in Sumatra at the Grand Impression Hotel. After a month of hard beds and mostly cold showers we were absolutely delighted with this hotel in Medan. The bed was lovely and comfortable with a thick duvet and the shower was hot and powerful! The room was very clean and cosy and staff were all attentive and friendly. We enjoyed having dinner at the hotel restaurant for a very reasonable price; the food was fresh, healthy and tasty. The breakfast buffet was also very good and was included in the room rate. Our airport pickup was without a hitch and for an acceptable Rp. 175.000. We really loved this hotel and would definitely stay again if we return to Medan in the future!

It was located on top of a grocery store which is to me was pretty beneficial. The hotel also provided a free shuttle to the train station but if you wish to go straight to the airport, they cost about Rp175,000 per shuttle. Though they did say they have free wifi but the wifi isn't that strong, too slow to my liking. I reckon you buy your own data.

Pretty far from the city.

Location is GREAT, there is a fruit market just downstairs, and a lot of food just a walking distance from hotel.
Room is small, and no windows, only a fake curtains for decoration.
Food is OK, but only few choices available.
Bad wifi.
Staff not friendly.

When I arrived at the hotel, it looks fine and all but the moment I enter my room. It smells terrible, then I checked the bathroom to find the source, unfortunately they didn't clean it properly and because I smell pee, and it wasn't the source of smell I tried to find. I turn the sink on and there's some squirt from the pipe and it speayed right to me, not so much but it bothers for sure. There is only one power socket to charge your devices. Aircons in the corridor is colder than the room. The receptionists are not nice. The security looks like a thug. Far from town central. Luckily they have the supermarket to keep them alive.
