Had a wonderful experience. Couldn't have a better place to stay at Gili Gede. The place the atmosphere.. The people who stay.. The service.. The food and of course the owner give us a memorable and wonderful experience. Feel like home. Gorgeous sunset view in front of the bungalow. A must is a visit Gili Ringgit and Gili Layar. 15... My partner and I booked a bungalow at the last minute and are so thankful we did. During our month long travel to Indonesia, we had the best sleep in a long time here. This is a remote island and therefore we knew to expect to use the traditional mandi shower and toilet as well as having limited electricity but... More

This place is something special but be warned: remote island means remote island so don't expect any running water or electricity. What you can expect is a small resort with nice solid bungalows and 4 backpacker accommodations in an open bamboo hut (that's where we stayed). All meals are included - you can't order but there will be absolutely authentic... More

This was my favorite stay after 6 weeks (7 different hotels/guesthouses) on Bali, Gili Air, and finally Gili Gede. We spent 4 nights here. The food served here was one of the reasons we came (it was recommended by other travelers for this.) What it offers: Beautiful, quiet (I was never awoken by a rooster, by cats in heat, or... More

Via Vacare simple pleasures My friend & I stayed in the dormitory as the bungalows were booked out. We only lasted there one night, BUT that was because of our tastes & what we could handle. Via Vacare is a beautiful little homely place to stay & I have no doubt we would have lasted longer in the bungalows. The... More

Spent 4 nights at Via Vacare with my wife and daughter. Firstly the location was sensational. Sunsets over Mt Agung. Secondly the food was superb, simple Indonesian cuisine with a fusion. The hospitality was excellent, we were made to feel at home. The rooms are very large and the design is fantastic , being able to open the room right... More

After traveling a couple of weeks on Lombok and the northern gilis, we wanted a place to lean back. Via Vacare offered great bungalows on the sea side with marvelous surroundings, such as deserted tropical beaches and a traditional village. In our four week trip on Lombok we can say that the food at Via Vacare is definitely in the... More

We spent a week at Via Vicare. First you must promise not to touch the coral, stay a good distance from the turtles, and DONT feed the fish! That said, Via Vacare had excellent snorkeling right off the beach and a great trip to the other two islands as well. The spacious accommodations were exactly as described; basic but providing... The owner Jet offers a warm blend of western standards and rustic simplicity. The bungalows are well cared-for, clean and spacious and have full length opening windows and doors to allow air circulation, a sheltered day bed overlooking the other islands, mandi shower with fresh water. The main house is where you share meals with other guests, hang out and... More
