The room was clean and the reception was polite and helpful. But we were surprised to find that the following day our room was not made up and there were no fresh towels. The desk provided us with new towels. The maintenance of the room lacked much. The ventilation fan in the bathroom sounded like a tractor when turned on. A few light bulbs burned out and needed replacement. We booked this hotel for two major reasons. We had a fantastic price through one of the internet coupons and we wanted to visit friends and relatives in the Herzlia area.
Israel is expansive country . We visited it for treatment wich cost heavy . And we were happy to find this relatively cheap hotel . In addition they suggest discount for people having treatment in Herzliya . And although it resembles an old hostel there is pretty good sleeping conditions . Clean rooms . Plus good breakfast . So no reason to complain especially keeping in mind it price .
I have stayed here twice. Once in 2009 for about three weeks and again in 2015 for about 17 days. The two visits were quite similar with a few exceptions. On the first visit the breakfast was buffet style. On the second trip it was brought to you by a waiter with generally no choice of the menu (perhaps this is because of the language barrier - I cannot speak Hebrew). I have only experienced the Standard rooms. The pool is not working on this trip which is a huge disappointment as there is otherwise no exercise facility on the grounds. A previous reviewer wrote the pool was 'tiny'. This is certainly not the case as the pool is atypically large for a moderately-priced hotel. The pool area is nice when in service thought immediate pool area is now overgrown with weeds and looks terrible. There is a nice deck overlooking the pool. The wireless internet service has improved since my first visit and I get a clear signal in my room on the third floor. I have not experienced the worst of the problems mentioned in the above reviews and I have stayed here for about 6 weeks. I did not see a single roach or insect. I encountered no staff that were unclean as a previous review mentions. The place is not spotless but it is not ridiculously dirty. Reception is clean and the lobby off of reception is clean and nicely arranged though the ares seem not be air-conditioned - or it may be because they keep the front door open for some reason. The staff is friendly and not a single one of them was ever rude to me. A few were not overly friendly but I feel they were shy and/or could not speak English. The rooms are the weak point. They are a bit dirty (but not disgustingly so) and are very small for the price. The TV is as anachronistic as you will find in the developed world. There are two remotes to figure out and a satellite (cable?) system that is laughable. You are advised to unplug the cable box and wait if certain channels do not work. The front desk will tell you the same thing. By the way, this method never once worked for me. Only one (BBC News) of the hundreds of channels that would have interested me worked. There were a few other English-language channels that worked but these had old and/or unpopular U.S. or U.K. shows. The air-conditioners are very loud and annoying. For a hotel in one of the most exclusive areas of Israel (the street a few blocks away is known as having the most expensive houses in Israel) that is also favored by tourists for its proximity to a very nice beach, I find it surprising that most of the staff speak very little English. This is especially odd since overall many Israelis do speak English. Surprisingly one of the oldest staff members spoke the best English. I am here on business without my family so the hotel is fine for me. The price is not great but not bad for a hotel very near the beach and in an exclusive area. I would and probably will stay here again. If you are looking for a nice, no-nonsense hotel near a great beach and are not expecting frills and perks this is the place for you. I almost forgot - the hotel is quiet. The only activity seems to be early in the morning when people are in the dining area. I suspect they are the students training at the hotel.…
the only good thing about the hotel is its location close to bus stops. the hotel is quite run down. there is a plasma screen. rooms are small and lacking in caricature. staff was not very helpful. cant believe the staff is being trained to serve in larger 5 star hotels. would not recommend
This is a moderate hotel. No amenities but the people could not be nicer. The room was clean and quite. There is wifi access only in the lobby and sometimes reception was not great. An easy walk to a town center with shops and restaurants. Then just a little further to beach, about 20 minutes total. There is a bus in the town center to visit the marina which was great for sitting, having a drink or meal, and watching the sunset.
