Great location, awesome food and excellent service. Stayed 4 days here and loved the spacious rooms and bathrooms. Cabins are available for families too. Great spot, lots of flowers and a beautiful view of the sunset on the Sea of Galilee.

Not only was this the loudest hotel I've ever stayed in with children knocking on doors all night, the staff was helpless, and the tourists were all irritated ... but the rooms were not clean. The bathroom had mold and every single tourist had trouble getting the doors to open with the door keys. Not worth the trouble! The pace tourists are having to keep with full days is more than enough to keep away from this location. You will not rest and you will wonder why you have to endure this place!

Definitely realize that the "star" rating in the US is not the same in Israel. This hotel was supposed to be upscale but rather I could hear every word that people were saying (in a normal voice) in the next room. AND I could hear what they were "doing" in the bathroom. GROSS. The room wasn't as clean as it could be but no bugs, so that was ok. Had to ask for more towels and tissues. Not impressed at all. Glad I was only there for 2 nights and was busy outside the hotel during the days.

Being able to walk out of your room a short distance to the shores of the Kinneret (Sea of Galilee) would be enough of an incentive to stay here. But in addition, the rooms have been modernized and renovated and have all the amenities you could want (even if your observant!) Breakfasts are bountiful. Swimming pools have separate hours for men and women. You are a short drive from the Golan wineries and from the beautiful restaurants (and history) of Tiberius. A very uplifting resort with a great location!

My wife and I were in Israel to help our kids out with their newborn and the rest of the children. We worked very hard and needed a break. This hotel fit the bill. It is an attractive building with beautiful grounds that are well maintained. There are lots of things to do in the hotel, and it is located right next to a separate beach. The food there is very good, and the hotel meets very high standards of kashrus. There are two synagogues in the main building. The room we stayed in was generously proportioned, had a fridge and was very clean. We found the staff friendly and helpful. We only spent one night there and had already done our sightseeing in the area before we arrived. But if you are planning to stay longer, a rental car would probably be very helpful.

My visit in June was with a group. It was a cultural experience, The hotel was designed for very conservative Orthodox Jewish families. The guests were accepting of us but not especially welcoming. There are family activities on the grounds. However, swimming is gender specific with alternate days and times. Several people had difficulty locking and unlocking the doors of their rooms, We had to have help every time we tried to unlock the door. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The food was okay but not anything special. The grounds are lovely and it is a short walk on the path to the Sea of Galilee.

1. The hotel is great for a frum person. The stay was especially good because of the group mostly older couples from Jerusalem, that came for a vacation and for the guest speaker (though my father was much more impressed with two women who gave divrei torah than with the guest speaker). We didn't manage to go swimming as they had only separate swimming and the women in my family missed their chance and I didn't have the energy to go with only a few minutes left in an outdoor pool. The personal problem that we had in our room that the door lock was broken, was fixed within 5 minutes. (However, we still had a problem later on but were able to use the connecting door from my parent's room...) The beds were very comfortable and the TV worked well - though we were there for Shabbat and only put it on for an hour or so before. (commented on the TV as someone complained about the channels in an earlier post and I see no reason why). The food was decent though it could be better I ate way too much! A/C was good, and service was good and there were many nice guests so we had a great time!

We stayed at the Kinar for a long weekend with a large organized group. Our room was excellent, modern, spacious and comfortable with a sofa to on which to sit and read. Bathroom was excellent: wonderful shower, good toiletries, and okay towels. I didn't make use of the pool or beach so I can't comment on them. Be aware that the hotel caters to orthodox Jewish guests, so shabbat and kashrut are excellent. Rooms were not made up on shabbat (Saturday). Food was plentiful, with dishes ranging from excellent to mediocre, with most in the the just fine range, Meals were served buffet or family style and when we asked for a refill of a platter during a family style meal, our request was promptly and pleasantly filled. On shabbat the hotel was very full so buffet lines were long as there weren't enough stations to easily accomodate the crowds. Overall ambience suited us just fine and we would return.

Room Tip: You can ask for rooms that face the sea of galilee. We didn't know to ask.
