Kinneret Spa, a boutique hotel designed with Roman style architecture, invites you to a unique experience with personal and courteous service, facing the tranquil Sea of Galilee and the Golan Mountains. The hotel has a comfortable lobby-bar with library. A combination of high quality kosher meals and choices for various events are offered in the 12 arches hall. For your enjoyment - a sun terrace with a sauna facing the sea-view and body treatments by the best therapists.
Lovely, neat well maintained cottages, spread out but none too far away from the central restaurant area. Food in the Restaurant was excellent, good variety and very tasty. The resort is just on the Lake Tiberias and one can walk down to the water

The hotel advertises many facilities, among them wireless internet, the SPA, newly renovated rooms and an internet cafe. It is all true, but... in order to use the wireless internet, you have to go out to the neighbouring hotel, and hide in the bushes with your laptop. (as advised by the delightful receptionist). The SPA offered by the hotel is in fact the public baths from the 1970’s which haven’t seen any slightest refurbishment since Ben-Gurion visited. The room was visibly refurbished a few years ago; this also coincides with the last time it was cleaned. The white bedding was made much more attractive by some splats of blood and black hair artistically displayed all around the room. The nice surprise was a Jacuzzi on the terrace, however it was broken. A hungry traveller would be delighted to find a fridge stocked with food awaiting him; however the smell of the food in the unclean fridge was a charitable gift from a previous occupant. The fine spread of food provided in the morning included green tomatoes, tasteless scrambled egg, tap water, orange coloured tap water but fortunately the hotel room contained unsuspected treasures of Israeli cuisine, so check well underneath your beds, maybe an olive (or two) are waiting there for you. The internet cafe is explicitly advertised on the road sign just beneath the word SPA. After having enquired about the use of internet, we were strongly discouraged (by the delightful receptionist) not to use the one kiosk because it is out of order.…

This hotel is not what most middle-aged Americans expect from a resort area. I want to say from the beginning, the people were very, very nice. That was not the issue. The hotel, the grounds, the town of Tiberius,... all of them, just not nice. There is trash all over the place... the parking lot is a mess, a dumpster at one end with cats rummaging through the trash, and litter everywhere. The room was small but clean, and the water pressure was very good. The breakfast was just OK. One morning there was no breakfast and they send you to the hotel next door. There is such an unpleasant odor to that hotel that we just ate the Cliff bars we carry for such circumstances. I really hate to leave such a review as the people were so nice. The place is a dump.

Response from okemosdan, Manager at Kinneret Spa Hotel
Responded 16 Mar 2008
Dear valued guests It was obviously disturbing to read the negative sides of this review. While the whole issue of garbage collection is under the responsibility of the municipality, we have invested in a new ramp and am continiously making efforts to win the cooperation of the municipality in this issue. As for the breakfast - in rare times that the hotel has only a few guests, we prefer to send the guests to the Royal Plaza hotel next door - which is ranked 4* (at a higher cost for us) to try and prevent our guests from being alone in the dining room. I was glad to read the positive remarks about staff freindlyness and hotel cleanliness as we are continusly making our efforts to improve Best regards Oded - Hotel Manager

Strong Points: The rooms are clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was good. Two types of eggs, 10 types of salads, 4 types of fish, fresh bread rolls, dry cereal, yogurt, hot pastries, two kinds of coffee cake, yogourt, and fruit salad. The staff was pleasant. For religious people there is a holy site very close to the hotel and there are seperate beaches for men and women nearby. So So Points: It has a good location only if u have a car, otherwise you will be doing a lot of walking or paying for cabs. It has a sauna, but since in the summer it was more than 100 degrees outside, the sauna was useless. The massage therapists are not on premises unless you order them in advance, so there is no spur of the moment massages. Weak Points; Very small room and bathroom No real cable TV in the rooms so there is nothing to watch. Nothing but nothing for anybody to do in the hotel …
