Forget about the name Leijay Resort - resort was definitely used quite loosely here. It ain't a resort at all. The pool was ankle deep in the shallow end and probably waist deep in the deepest end - if that. The room was dark and dingy, mosquito nets had holes in them and showers basically dribbled and had zero water...

We stayed here in November 16. The management were helpful and welcoming. The transfers in and out of town is very convenient and makes for a great out of town getaway. Our only faults were breakfast was below average and washing was extremely expensive. We asked for a quoted price for washing and were advised 'cheap, do not worry' and...

Nice place and nice pool , Staff were friendly and a good place to relax there was an issue with water pressure and otherwise the rooms were fine as well. Staff was really helpful , Did not have a lot of options for breakfast.

Don't be fooled by the name, Leijay is more like a basic backpackers than a resort. Our group, through an agent, booked 4 rooms for 5 nights, each of which was sub standard. We lasted 3 nights! Showers with no water pressure and sometimes no water, rooms completely absent of furniture, washbasins with only cold water taps and no plugs,...

I am really surprised by some reviews I have been reading. With stayed in this hotel for one night and one day and we had a really good time. The service was really good, all the employees have been helpful and pleasant. The garden is very relaxing and includes a nice swimming pool. The hotel is about 10min from Galle's...

The hotel was initially a cultural shock for us after what we had been experiencing at our previous hotels. But after a reassessment it was not as bad as we first thought. The hotel is very isolated from any main shops and eating places and not the easiest to find through the windy narrow back streets but thanks to hotels...

Absolutely lovely garden. Pool great. Nice verandah outside rooms. Sweet staff. Good to have mosquito nets over bed. Bathrooms ok. But rooms very basic in standard. And: rooms not cleaned or tidied during stay. Breakfast a sad story fruit egg toast. Not possible to get all breakfast in less than an hour, some mornings more. Garden furniture very worn out,...

The Guest House changed management in November and it has taken a few months to set things up and train new staff, in the middle of high season. The place is being managed well and we hope that the new visitors can enjoy the facilities (pool, garden etc.) that the place offers. Free pick and drop is added via a...

Leijay Resort is not really one. Other than a swimming pool, it is just a collection of rooms which share common sitting areas looking out on a nice garden. The location is pretty, with monkeys and birds everywhere as well as lots of flies and mosquitos. We are told a foreign owner from a South Asian country recently bought the...
