I was the first guest at Mango House back in 2013 so I saw how hard BOTH owners worked and I saw the concern BOTH owners displayed at that time for ordinary Sri Lankan labourers trying to move a heavy rock at three men too short for the job. Such concern is a non-existent priority here by either locals or...

A beautiful setting and perfect for a one or two night stay. We had the smaller room with a window looking out onto the inner courtyard and , despite other reviews we had read, were very pleasantly surprised. It was beautifully decorated and with a spacious, lovely shower/ bathroom. The public spaces are stunning with lots of lovely books available...

We stayed at Mago House for one night while en route from Columbo to Mirissa. We arrived very early (5am), hot and tired after a long flight. Staff kindly checked us into a spare room, free of charge, despite check in not being until noon. It's a wonderful exotic oasis in Galle with loads of character and charm. We had...

Mango house is a stunning hotel that fits the needs of the entire family. Even though we only stayed here for one night, we really enjoyed our time. Firstly, they have a chill area were they provide colouring books and games for the children, and because there were not many guests we had the whole space to ourselves. Also the staff...

When you visit the scenic and historic Galle Fort, it only seems right to stay in such a boutique hotel and not some chain designed from a template! Being a boutique hotel means you have to adjust your expectations and from the hotelier's point of view, it is much more forgiving as one can get away with a lot of...

My sister and I stayed for 2 nights and thought it was great. Rooms are really clean; we had a spacious room opening up to a beautiful courtyard. The reception/lounging area is lovely and they offer you free tea whenever you want. The breakfast was huge and so scrumptious! Our room was located next to the kitchen which is unfortunate...

An oasis of calm in busy Galle. With only 7 rooms this lovely little hotel is a perfect place to stay while in Galle. Centrally located to walk to the various shops, galleries and restaurants inside Galle Fort. Service was excellent. Staff extremely friendly. They serve a really good breakfast. Would most def stay again.

This was our final hotel on our Sri Lanka trip and it was a great one to end on. Located within Galle Fort (very easy to walk all around), the rooms are small, but perfectly comfortable and decorated in a quaint style. Each room has a private outside space with a table as well. Complimentary teas if wanted too. The...
