Arrived in Sri Lanka after 11 hour flight and taken a short ride to Villa Kalapuwa. What a wonderful way to relax. Small villa hotel run by students who were extremely friendly and made our short stay there something to remember. Beautiful ground and food excellent. Wished we could have stayed longer tham one night. Pat and Dave Lewis

We started our holiday with an overnight stay here – really just used it as a place to catch up with ourselves after the flight, and was perfect for that. Down a shabby pot holed path we didn't hold wild expectations for what lay ahead. However, once we found the villa we were relieved. Beyond a private gate we walked...

The complex consists of a few villas in two buildings. The location is nice and quiet, about 15 minutes by tuktuk from the "centre" of Negombo and less then 10 minutes from the fish market (the staff will call you a tuktuk for around 1000 Rupees for 4 hours) The villas are located on the mangrove lake. Within 10 minutes...

Villa Kalapuwa is located approximately 25 minutes from Colombo (Negombo) airport, on the other side of the lagoon. The Villa is just a few hundred meters of a main road, with the lagoon being right behind the villa. From the villa to the center of Negombo is a 10 - 15 minutes tuk tuk drive. We rented a tuk tuk...

This is a good place for a brief stop, but no more. It's a bit in the middle of nowhere; perfectly comfortable but basic. Most rooms are off the main lounge/ dining area so privacy it limited. No TV in room and no mini-bar too, so be warned... BYO! It's also important to realise that the bathrooms are not sound-proofed...

This was our first port of call on our trip to Sri Lanka and undoubtedly our worst stay. The staff were charming and friendly but as the property is situated by a stagnant lagoon there were mosquitos aplenty and with no nets and an open vent in the bathroom there were many bites overnight. Also though they provided bottled water...

Perfect spot to get over your jet lag and begin your adventure in Sri Lanka! Simple decor but well thought out design. It rained for the first two days, but it was ok because so many nooks to curl up in and enjoy a book or some self reflection. Would highly recommend!

We spend 2 weeks in Sri Lanka and although we only spent one night here it was our favourite place to stay, The food was the best we ate and the tea was exceptional. The staff are extremely friendly and willing to help with anything you may need. We spent our time relaxing, reading and splashing around in the pool....

This small b+b is relatively new and is fantastic. It was recommended by red dot tours and i was a little apprehensive as no reviews on it but it was well worth the risk! Only has 3 rooms which are done to a very high specification and the setting is idyllic. It's a fair way out of negombo but I...

The property is fantastic with a dining room and sitting area overlooking the lagoon. This is a place you go to get away to chill out. The staff are very friendly and the food was excellent. I loved just hanging around and jumping into the pool. The layout of the place gives you a lot of privacy as there are...
