The African Tulip Hotel, owned by Roy Safari, was way beyond our expectation when we (3 seniors) arrived to go on safari the next morning. Our room and our friend's were a two-room suite with a shared ante-room. The rooms and the staff were first class all the way. Although it was too late to dine when we arrived, the...

After flying over 20 hours and arriving at 12:30 am in the morning in Tanzania this hotel is a lovely oasis of tranquility. The staff greeted us cordially and quickly and even managed to find my husband a beer even though room service was closed for the evening. Our room was clean, quiet, and welcoming; everything we wanted after our...

While the photos make it look newer and more upscale, the hotel is charming and beautifully maintained. The staff is kind and attentive. The rooms are large but minimalist. What is most delightful is the beautifully appointed decor. It FEELS like Africa. I made use of the laundry service, the hotel lounge, the restaurant and the pool area. Everything was...

Upon arriving at the Kilimanjaro Airport we were greeted by one of Roy Safaris' friendly and courteous drivers who transported us from the Kilimanjaro Airport to the African Tulip where we spent our first night. We stayed in this hotel before and after our safari. It was very nice. We were upgraded to larger rooms with private balconies. The staff was very attentive, friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast provided a wide selection. Rooms were clean and well maintained. The hotel was peaceful and relaxing.

After many hours of travelling from the UK we were welcomed at this hotel, on the out skirts of Arusha, like old friends. Within minutes we were settled in our room which was huge, decorated in typical African style and well equipped. After a quick dip in the pool we had dinner which was a well prepared buffet. What a great find! Coming to Africa for the first time, we wanted to stay in Arusha a few days prior to our safari. We checked in late (11p) to the hotel and we were greeted with smiles and staff ready to help. It was late, however, to them, as long as we were happy, they were ready to assist....
