As a female traveling alone, far far away from my home, I am happy to highly recommend songota falls lodge. I felt totally safe, was welcomed every time I came through the gates, and the food! Wonderful soups, and African dishes every night. Thank you Joyce!

We spent several days with Joyce at her quaint lodge. She treated us like family and we enjoyed our stay very much. The cottages are modest simple accommodations but are well maintained and comfortable. The meals provided were excellent buffet style servings that were very tasty. Loved the breakfasts to start our days! And the best is when we met...

What a special little oasis high in the hills around Arusha. You will enjoy a unique and truly local experience. Joyce is a wonderful cook and hostess, homemade juice when you arrive, and Raymond, her son, a great host as well. Rooms are comfortable, private, and nicest of all have hot water and real toilettes. You won't be disappointed making...

My husband and I went to Tanzania for our honeymoon. I wanted to find a place to stay in Arusha because it was the closest to all the parks. I was also looking for a small and quiet place that will allow us to experience the authenticity of the surrounding and that's when I found Songota Falls lodge. We stayed...

We stayed at Songota Falls Lodge for one night in June 2013 before our safari. It was also our first ever night in Africa. Upon stepping out of the Kilimanjaro Airport, Joyce's son Raymond was there to meet us to drive us to Songota Falls Lodge, which is tucked into a quiet neighbourhood slightly away from the center of Arusha....

I stayed at this lodge one night in August, as part of a longer stay in Arusha. The units are lovely, well designed and compact. Joyce Kimaro, the owner and hostess, is super accommodating, as well as presenting very good breakfast and dinner. The view from the dining area is into a valley, and probably one of the best lookout...

This is a locally run lodge, built on a very steep hillside in the foothills of Mt Meru, with beautiful views (reminiscent of Bali). It is ideally located for travellers who are climbing Meru, Kilimanjaro or heading off on safari but far enough away from the main road to feel that you are in a different world to that of...

The Songota Falls Lodge is a beautiful place in plain nature with a nice view. It is the perfect place to relax and to regain energy - for example before and after climbing Kilimanjaro or going on Safari. Compared to Arusha-town, here you can see monkeys and bushbabies. Joice is a great host who cooks delicious food and personally cares...

I stayed at Songota for four nights, before and after climbing Kilimanjaro and a safari, respectively. Joyce, the owner is the biggest reason why Songota is such a perfect place to stay while in Arusha. Pros: Joyce's amazing and authentic cooking; her son and staff who go out of there way to make sure you have everything you need (ie....

Within moments of arriving we felt completely at home. The rooms are clean and comfy and views and spectacular - we didn't expect such a peaceful place right on the doorstep of chaotic Arusha. Mama Joyce, the owner, is the warmest, most hospitable host you could hope for and her cooking is delicious. Even when we cooked our own food...
