Nice place, nice location and friendly staff especially the tall girl! AC a bit noisy but still acceptable. No free breakfast unless you state in your booking. Will come back again for another trip to date the tall reception girl!

Very centrally located in Hatyai City. Fronting Christina Massage Centre and just one-minute walk to Central Shopping Centre and Lee Gardens Plaza. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are refurbished to suit the modern style and the wi-fi are everywhere available, free.

I chosen this hotel because of the good reviews written… but we are just so unlucky!!! We stayed for 4nights on Sept 2012.
• Reception (check-in side) & Bell boy services was good & check-in was fast.
**Hotel will hold-on to your PASSPORT until u check-out.
• Hotel Location was Good, near shopping, 7-11 store, massage, markets, eatery & night hawker street,
• Free Wi-Fi in room but connection was BAD even after they fixed! Lobby Wi-Fi was good.
• Room big enough & clean with King size bed but water leaking beside toilet bowl, they never fix properly, technician doesn’t speak English at all. Toilet blind spoil, so can see thru from bed area while using. Cupboard just opp. toilet with 2 hanger only.
** Housekeeper attitude was “Super Reality”. If u asked for addition pillow or towel etc… u give them TIPS after they delivered the next time they saw u or u still need their services, they will show u Super FAST Response & Sweet SMILING FACES. The more tips u gave u get more smiling faces & better services. If u gave less, u get black faces and RUDE Attitude (ex: refuse to change towels for the next few days, I paid them to change) for the rest of the days u staying! We had 3 family in 3 rooms, that’s our 3 REAL Experience for 5days 4nites !!!
• If u wan more services from Hotel Housekeeper and they REPLY u “NO MORE” or “Cannot, No No”, ask them again while holding money on your hand make sure they notice it, this mean u going to give them this AMOUNT of tips after they delivered, they will sure FULLFILL your request. It works on us!
** Check-out counters staffs attitude was impolite - Please check-out earlier because hotel will need to check your rooms b4 they give you back your PASSPORT. Our 3rooms took 30mins+ for checking. Here is what had happened to us: 1 of our room was been charged due to missing of some drinks in their fridge, if we refuse to pay, they WILL NOT GIVE US BACK OUR PASSPORTs. So for giving no other choice, we felt that we are been “threaten” to pay. And they actually accuse that room family which gave little tipping!!! **
We had investigated among ourselves, confirmed that NO adults or our 3 kids(8-11yrs old) took any drinks from Hotel Fridge! We bought our cold drinks everyday from 7-11 opposite hotel. **
For such Hotel Housekeeper & the On-hold Passport services, I will never stay in this hotel again! I really hate the feeling, felt been threaten. There are lots of other hotels in the same area.

Just came back fr Hatyai.

Avoid avoid avoid Mayflower.

Staff not friendly - room smelly (have to switch the air con to full blast to keep the smell away) - water marks near the air con vent - toilet tiles groove stains - cannot extend check-out time .

Worst to come when checking out.
We were charged THB50 for breaking a drinking glass which we did not even touch. We went to check with the housekeeping and can't understand what they were talking as they spoke in Thai. Brought down the glass (still wrap in plastic bag) to the check out counter, told them we did not use the glass, they still insisted we pay. For heaven's sake. Why would we use the glass when there is no tea making facilities. Told them that we bought bottled mineral water and drink straight from the bottle. Asked to see the manager, but chief cashier said on leave and insisted that we pay.

Usually we stay at the hotel opposite, but since there are a lot of good reviews, we thought we will give it a try. This will be the first and last time. Better to pay additional three hundred baht for a better hotel.

Totally agreed with other member's comments that the manager is not friendly. Saw her when checking in.

Heard that New Season Hotel is sister hotel. Don't know how true.

I find the hotel room is clean and well fitted parquet flooring. easy access to anywhere for tourists. I had been staying at this hotel for more than twenty times and all my fiends love it very much. my favorite floor are 9th and 11th and 12th floor.the housekeeping very helpful and polite, maybe we are regulars.I just came back on 4th march...I stay at 10th flr n we don like the housekeeping...no money no say mentality. the front desk staffs need to be educated on cust svcs...the only hotel uses solar panel.

The Mayflower Grand Hotel is situated at the junction of Thanon Saengchan and Thanon Prachathipat and is one of the better located hotels in terms of proximity to the town centre of Hat Yai. The main shopping centre of Lee Garden and it's surrounding markets are literally on your doorstep from this hotel. Being positioned so central, banks, money changers, eateries (from street food to more up-market restaurants), taxis and tut-tuts are also readily available. There is even a handy 7-Eleven just across the street, very handy when you want to pick up extra toiletries or even bottled water.

The hotel is fairly easy to find and has it's own on-site secure parking which is free for guests and is in a fenced off, guarded, compound behind the hotel. The only complaint here is that the parking bays are very narrow so the potential for damage to your car with inconsiderate people opening doors without thinking is higher.

Like many of the hotels in Hat Yai the Mayflower is quite dated albeit this hotel was apparently given a make over several years back. Again, like may other hotels, the reception area is quite grand and ornate but the rooms themselves are less grand, they are however better than some of the much older hotels that have not benefitted from relatively recent refurb. The reception staff are polite and friendly, some speaking better English than others. At around 1290 baht walk-in rate (at the time of writing) I think it's a bit pricey given that the newer 'New Season Hotel' can be booked for about the same. Breakfast is not included even at that high rate. I would certainly try to get reduced voucher prices from travel agents in Hat Yai or near the border (if driving there) but even these rates don't come down much. Some internet deals may be available if you're lucky.

The rooms have wooden floors and older CRT style TVs. Picture quality on the TVs is OK and the channel selection reasonable. The beds are king-size and comfortable and the air-con is effective but quite noisy. There are no ceiling fans in the room. A kettle is provided but, oddly, no mugs, spoons or coffee/tea? Two bottles of water are provided daily. The bathrooms are of reasonable size and the showers are 'over the bath' type with a curtain, not a cubicle. The bathrooms are the least appealing part of the rooms with some looking a bit grubby, the towels are also cheap and a bit rough, common in the hotels here. There is a fairly good tray of toiletries. There is a table and 2 chairs in each room but these are of a very cheap and uncomfortable looking white fibreglass type material. There is also wifi throughout the hotel. Entry to the room is via 'card-swipe' as opposed to traditional key, the door self-locks as you leave.

The experience at this hotel was overshadowed a bit at first because of a noisy group who had booked several room on the same floor and constantly shouted to each other down the corridor with no consideration for others. At first the hotel said a room change was not possible until I went to reception and told them in no uncertain terms that as a paying guest I expect, amongst other things, a relaxing environment. If the hotel cannot manage their business and either a) keep the noise down or b) change the room I would be taking option c) check out with full refund as the hotel cannot fulfil its part of the contract. After that, their attitude changed and we were given a different room. Hotels need to understand that guests are PAYING to stay in their establishments and in this case, paying quite a lot, it's NOT free!!! As a result, guests have the right to expect certain reasonable standards and the hotel are obliged to provide them, not expect customers to put up with any sub-standard ability to manage their business!!

I would stay at the hotel again but I'd likely try to get a better rate or stay at the New Season for the same price OR one of the slightly older hotels which are a bit further out from the centre but quite a lot cheaper (e.g. Sakura Grand View).

Positives
+ Very well located, very central for shops, markets, eating and nightlife
+ Reasonable sized rooms
+ Comfortable beds
+ Free wifi throughout hotel
+ Hair dryer in room
+ Kettle in room (but no tea, coffee or mugs)
+ Room safe in room
+ Two free bottles of mineral water daily
+ On site parking
+ Pleasant reception staff
+ Reasonable sized wardrobe
+ Reasonable priced room service menu
+ House keeping staff friendly and helpful

Negatives
- Quite expensive at full rates
- Wifi signal a bit weak at times
- TVs in room are older CRT style
- Not enough coat-hangers in wardrobe
- No ceiling fans in room
- Hotel will wish to retain your passport until checkout but you can pay a returnable deposit instead if you wish.
- Car park spaces a bit small
- Car park is of open-air type so cars get hot during day
- Access to car park (and entrance to hotel from car park) is through a restaurant fire-exit

THB1050 for a weekday sounds reasonable. Rooms quite clean and wifi at all floors for free. Quite spacious bathroom compare to other hotels in city. Great for town shopping and local delicacies eating out; all within walking distance.

My 2nd visit to Mayflower, first choice for me during a trip to Hat Yai, as have previous bad experiences for the other hotel surrounding.
Obviously, it is a nice building situated next to the busy streets on Hat Yai, very convenient location, walking distance to hunt for food and shopping.
Room is clean, with a nice Satelite TV Program minus the LCD.
In term of service, well, it still need some improvement for customer service, especially for the front desk.
Overall, it is good and nice, and plus point....it got a free wireless.
