Needs much improvement

“Needs much Improvement”
The only positive thing about this hotel is its location. It is very near to shopping areas and the night markets and street food. Lots of massage shops within walking distance. The negative things are the rooms which needs to be upgraded. Bathroom looks old, walls need repainting, shower is always hot no matter which way you turn it. TV reception is terrible, Wifi is worse. lightings are too dim (some about to fall off), only one plug for you to charge your multiple devices, no toothbrush or hotel slippers, only one roll of toilet paper, only 2 small bottles of shampoo, swimming pool looks like a big bathtub. My friend and I stayed there for 3 nights. When we requested a room upgrade, we were shown to a room in the new wing. Everything the same except that we had to pay about 1700 baht for 3 nights (S$65) It's an ok place to stay if you can bear with those negative things mentioned. Just tolerate. Thanks. One more thing to add. They only issue one card key. If you need to access your room, you will need to go to the reception and a bellhop will open the door for you. Also take note that they will keep one passport for security. If not, you will need to pay deposit of 500 baht which is refundable upon checkout.

We stayed for two nights at this hotel. We had booked originally booked into the Regency Wing of this hotel, however, after five minutes in the room we decided that it was NOT for us. The air-con made an awful racket, there were no coffee/tea facilities, and the room looked dreadfully tired and second rate, it aso smelt musty, and was in desperate need of redecorating; all in all it was not inviting in anyway at all. Our request to Reception for an immediate change/upgrade of the room was quickly handled, and transfer to an alternate room in the Royal Wing was handled efficiently by all the staff concerned. This new room was better but nevertheless it could in no way be described these days as "a luxurious guest room" as per the hotel's website. This room smelt better, but like the previous room it was also very dated and in need of some repair and redecoration. On the plus side, the view was pleasingly panoramic, and there was coffee/tea in this room, and the air-con did not sound like a diesel engine and the Wi-Fi worked well! In some ways the gym in this hotel, which we visited on one occasion, reflected the general state and overall feeling that we got from this hotel, 'a massive, uninviting cavernous building that once was well-equipped and modern but one that is now very dated, badly lit throughout to the point that there is an air of depression about the whole place, and which is in desperate, desperate need of renovation and updating. It is not a "superior first class hotel" as described in its website, and barely value for money.

Located in good location.
Nearby with mall & food outlets..
Very convenient to buy things & foodies.

But need to speed up on checking out procedures. Long wait upon check out which is quite frustrating.

I don’t even understand how they can get the name or title for regency. The staffs can’t speak English, most of them just rude and even hang up, after transfer 3 departments.. cause i m just asking for sleeper! They even said, “ok, sure!” They don’t even care! I wonder even if this place have any management? 🤦🏼‍♀️
Omg! Even a hostel or any budget motel could provide better service! Horrible place... and recommend for some boutique hotel ll be better!
They are so arrogant!

The lift door closes too quick. Few times my kids got hit by the lift door because it closes too quick without warning, even if we press the ‘open door’ sign. The wifi is not working at all. The parking also dirty and have construction materials. They should be upgrading the hotel rather than just thinking about profit.

We check in on 6 March 2015. At the same day, at night, i get bite by the insects (photo attached) whole body, i wake up from sleep when i feel pain and itchy. After few minutes, I called reception counter request for change room but they said so full cannot make it although they know the tragedy happened, i cannot do anything because i cannot proof to them what insect bite me. Luckily later on i saw a insect moving slow on the bed and i get down to reception counter show them, after that only they say got a room available which reserve for other people but now they not choice so change for me. Beside that, none of compensation and apology from the hotel. Please do not others do not stay in this kind of terrible hotel during your holiday, that is damn bad.

Checked in on 24th Jan 2012, family of 2 adults and 1 child. Lobby looks good and seems like a 4 star hotel, but dont be fooled by its grand looks and beautiful lobby. The room provided is just horrible, dark, eerie, moulded, broken bathroom tub, dusty and dirty!! Since it was a public hoiliday, i was charged for THB 2800 with compulsory extra bed at THB 350. Except for the location, nothing is worth staying there. Theere are plenty of hotels nearby on the same location. Worst than a shoplot motel!! My advice, never stay there no matter what.

needed a place for a nite's stay and a friend suggested this place.booked a family suite and a junior suite for 5 adults and 1 child BEFORE i checked the reviews here! what a mistake! anyway, its our 2nd stay in hat yai and i must say the attitude of hotel staff over here is pretty bad.i hear its a hat yai thing, which is so far away from the great attitude one gets from bangkok hotels! will definitely not stay in hat yai again....KPK Hotel Resort in Dan Nok (45mins drive away) would be a better choice
LOCATION: just opposite the more popular LEE GARDENS PLAZA (which my family were not to keen on due to the bombings and flooded basement car-parks)
CHECK-IN: Staff seem to not understand english very well and although there were like 5 or 6 of them around, they seemed pretty new.Family suite had 4 adult guests and i was give just ONE wingcard (keycard)! when i asked for another wingcard, they tell me the hotel only gives ONE card per room.so i ask them how on earth do 4 adults share 1 card? they tell me to leave the wingcard at the reception everytime someone goes out......hmmm.......i then ask for the front-office manager or duty manager...and they all chorus out ...'she in meeting'.....seems like that would be the standard reply ...
the staff wanted to keep our passports as 'room deposit' which i did not agree to so they accepted THB1000 (US$25) per room instead
ROOM: Fantastic! maybe 30 years ago! both rooms were large but in a really rundown condition (pics attached).wanted to check out immediately but all the other hotels were full due to the SONGKRAN (Thai new year) weekend.so,we had to just bear it since it was just for a night.Pillows were harder than rocks but the mattress was okay.rooms were really old and smelly and was great relief that the windows could be opened to let fresh air in! 1 room a/c was not cold so i made a call to housekeeping.they promised to send someone but no one showed up! although we were on the 12th (top) floor, the noise level was simply too loud ..due to bad sound-proofing and music blastiing from the concert outside LEE GARDENS till 3am!
POOL: we could see the pool from our room and the water was really murky!definitely a no no!
PARKING: as we drove from malaysia,we parked in the fenced outdoor car-park which had a security guard round the clock.in hat yai,one does not park in basement car-parks
CHECK-OUT: Fast fortunately
There's a reason why this hotel is ranked so lowly here and if i were you,i'd stay elswhere!!!

I can not recommend Regency Hatyai.

Alot of other reviews said the location is strategic, which is true. But bear in mind that there are a few other hotels in the vicinity offering great location and better rooms then Regency Hatyai!

As a 4 Star Hotel, I am truly disappointed with the way this Hotel is conducted. Me and my wife stayed for 2 nights. During check in, they held back my passport for the duration of my stay, which is unheard of in this day and age.

The Lobby itself is dark but beautiful, with Thai-themed statues placed all around. The lift to the rooms is small and slow, I can't imagine this being an efficient method to move the guests up & down, especially during peak periods.

But the worst part is the Room! we stayed at room 1019, which is a standard room. At first glance everything looks in place, the furnitures are old/classic themed which I don't mind. But the toilet is a disaster! The bath tub's paint is flaking, and the water tap is unable to close securely, with steady flow of water constantly leaking! Water pressure is also weak! The sink's drain cover is also broken and rusted, which makes me feel disgusted. One of the bulbs on the ceiling of the toilet had blown and looks like no one bothered to replace it. Toilet tissue holder also broken on the floor with no tissue in sight! Amenities also lackluster.

The freezer is making a weird noise every half an hour or so, making you feel like the place is haunted.

The air-conditioning though is cold and nice, which helped in cooling down the anger inside me hahaaha. Bed is also clean and comfortable.

With the asking price of this hotel, there are better and cheaper options around...Regency Hatyai is a 2 Star hotel disguised as a 4 Star. Give this one a miss if you have options.
