The room was okay, but not too comfortable for us. Very limited parking space available.
It provide breakfast but it is serve at Merlin Grand Hotel. So have to walk to that Hotel. Probably this hotel is one of branch of Merlin Grand Hotel, but for lower cost.
Need to hold our passport, and give a receipt hotel, which feel very insecure.

The hotel is rated as a 3-star hotel but for me, it considered a 2-star. Amenities is limited to towels & soap. No kettle provided and if you need a boil water, you need to take it yourself from the reception counter. The room have a split-type air-conditioners, LCD tv (with satellite channels) and a water heaters.

For breakfast or may be lunch/dinner, you will be directed to Merlin Grand Hotel since Asia Grand did not have any restaurant.

Been here for one night. got new carpet and room with the balcony but with no seat to enjoy the view. wifi is acceptable and has private parking. breakfast is provided but at merlin hotel across the street. overall, this hotel is just fine to those who are not choosy but to have such decent sleep and ease of mind, it does.

Dinner for two. I had a pork chop and fries with salad and my girlfriend had a Thai salad and some other dish. A band played throughout our meal, singing well known western songs, more like karaoke lol. However the food was good and not too expensive so happy overall.

The moments after checking in at the receptionist, the bell-guy had voluntarily assisted us in carrying our luggage to the room. Upon arriving at the room, that guy ask us to give him some tips. For Malaysian, tipping is not a culture though. He once again insisted on us to tip him which I eventually gave a 20Baht note. And he did take it on rude face.

The next morning, I want to have breakfast with my friend. To my surprise, the receptionist told us to get to another hotel ( Merlin Hotel ) some walking distance away as this hotel did not serve food. I was served ala-carte American breakfast at the Merlin Hotel and the food portion were small that I was still hungry then.

Inside the room, there were no kettle and we have to go down to the lobby to take the hot water.

For me, staying at this hotel was the worst experience I ever had and will not be on my list anymore if I ever to come again to Hatyai.

Everything about this place was awful. Very unfriendly staff (except one guy trying very hard), not particularly clean rooms, the worst pillows I have ever felt, and a bed as soft as ply wood. V-ocean is a 2 minute walk away, same price, and so much nicer.

The hotel is actually being renovated and the new look is quite nice. Very good and quite environment. Very near to amenities such as food, bar, 7-11, massage centre and others. The staff are friendly and helpful. But for the breakfast you have to walk across the road for their another branch.

Is not a great 3 - 4 star hotel to begin with considering the building itself is not new.
With newer hotel like Friendly Hotel just next door, what they can compensate will be friendly helpful receptionist.
I personally like the location as it is hidden away from the crowded tourist area. A good 5 - 10 minutes walk basically to everywhere. Face it, Hadyai is not that big and with all the yummy food you can eat, is good to walk off those extra calories.
Anyway, things you should take note on if you're not a fan of this:
1. Toilet drainage not working properly. So, water was not moving after few minutes shower. Slippery. So be careful.
2. WiFi not working despite numerous time they restart the system.
3. Not really sound proof. Luckily no BIG action next door. Just heard drunk guest coming back at night. Light sleeper stay away.
4. You can skip breakfast (even if is provided). They shared with another hotel across the street: Hotel Merlin. Nothing great about it and better save your stomach for other yummy food you can get.

Brownies for this hotel:
1. Walking distance to Van terminal where you can catch a van ride to Songkhla (see the Mermaid). It only cost 34 Baht per person. Hotel will charge you about 1,800 to 2,000 Baht for a whole van for yourself. Spend wisely people.
2. Also walking distance to shopping attraction like - Lee Gardens Square where Odean and Central are. My walking speed is 5 minutes. Time yourself.
3. Walking distance to Robinson and Train Station - walking speed less than 10 minutes.
4. Kim Yoong Market - Walking speed less than 10 minutes.

You see, Hadyai is not really big (a small town) with many shop you can stop and check out. So you won't get bored on the sight while walking. I don't fancy crowded area with tourist and waiting for lift to get up to your room like is forever. Not to mention they stop you at entrance to check your back in case you decided to bring a grenade or dynamite into the building. Security check it good, but if you're going out 10 times a day needing to go through that (if you carry a beg), I think I'll stay here.
There's 7-Eleven outside, a small hawker store serve good noodles and Dim Sum around there. Oh, you can get your local tourist SIM card just outside the Gold jewelry store just opposite 7-Eleven.
100 Baht for 2 GB data last for 7 days. I say is a good deal.
I didn't finish mine though I switch it on 3 days and sharing with another device.
And since the hotel room WiFi not working.

Overall, I will say, walk a bit to know the town bit more.

I had to give this hotel a "terrible" rating because lower is not available. Stayed with my family in a large family room with 2 queen size beds, a so-called living/kitchen area offering nothing more than 2 small bottles of water and cheap coffee. We stayed when Hat Yai had big rain and the room was leaking from the rotting ceiling in the bathroom and main bedroom area. The floor carpet was wet in 1 area of the room and the ceiling leak in the bathroom was dripping over the electric water heater. I had to put a plastic bag over the electric water heater (see photo) so to not get electrocuted. The breakfast included with the room is below any standards, in one word CHEAP. On checking out we were charged for a cheap broken drinking glass. Overall this was a short stay in a hell hole. Avoid at all cost, Hat Yai has many more better hotels than this cheap crappy place.

Stayed for 2 nights here when visiting Hat Yai. The hotel has very basic amenities, no coffee no tea, no hot water cooker, only 2 bottles of plain water.

The receptionists are only able to speak very, very basic English, but they are helpful.

The first night we stayed here was very disappointing as the room was very old, and the air conditioning was smelly. After speaking with the hotel manager, we were able to get a better room for our second day.

The plus point for this hotel is just its closeness to the Hat Yai market area. Which serve to make our search for food and shopping easier.
