As others have said, it's rustic and basic on the raft house but it has its own magic. Wonderful to sit overlooking the river. The common area is nice but mostly unused. Bedrooms a little sparse and would be greatly improved with some art work or similar. Staff friendly but not great English. Enjoyed my stay here but perhaps not...

We booked an air-con room and got one overlooking the River Kwai. No fridge, no TV, shower water hits your toilet seat but, what a great view from our small balcony...and only $ 16.00 U.S. Location of the guesthouse is very good in the center of everything.

Pretty basic room but with everything you need (it had an air conditioning unit that didn't turn on but there was a working fan at least.) The communal sitting area is right by the river with great views and the location is really good lots of bars and a couple of shops near, 10 minutes walk to the train station,...

Booked this last minute as we were heading to Kanchanaburi the next day and there wasn't a lot of choice available. We originally got given a twin bed room although we asked for a double and when we got into it we found little bugs all over the beds, I assume this was because the room hadn't been used in...

Unfortunately there's lots of bad things about this guesthouse, when we first arrived we were shown to our room twin beds although we requested a double, bugs covering bed (assuming the room hadn't been used in a while but this should of been checked!),we did tell the lady on reception and she did let us move rooms to the raft...

Best guesthouse i stayed all week. I was in bangkok and on budget. Paid almost the same but get nothing like here. The staff is friendly, smiling and ready to help. I borrowed an adopter for my charger. So peaceful. I'm already sad i have only two days here.

Location of this place is awesome! Just off the main road, set a little back from it and right on the river - giving amazing views and a great place to chill. Close to all the bars and food places and literally next door to a 7/11. Within walking distance from the train station which is handy for day trips...

Was in Kanchanaburi for a night and went back to stay at the Tamarind. Having stayed here about 4 years ago i knew what to expect a nice basic Fan room for 350 baht. It was clean and its right in the center of Town but set back enough off the road so you dont hear any noise. The staff...

Great location with many bars and restaurants near. Alot of tour companies near we used good times and they were brilliant. Very clean. Beautiful view and many places in walking distance. Beds were quiet hard but this was the only downfall of the stay. Very happy.

To enjoy a night or nights in Kanchanaburi, one should try out Floating Guesthouse. A few of them are really expensive. The cheaper ones are within 20 min walk from Kanchanaburi Railway Station. A train ride from Bangkok is only 100 baht. However, there are only 2 trains departing each way between Bangkok and Kanchanaburi. Tamarind Guesthouse is one of...
