We stayed here as part of a tour group... We were all blown away with the character and charm of the place. It's an old house, but all beds were comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good with a few options and well set out for each table. Views from the roof top balcony are stunning. If you're not travelling with...

Really cool and homely place to stay. The dorm area was nice but one double was a small mattress on the floor. Plenty of bathrooms and shower rooms (separate), the owners were lovely and extremely helpful allowing us to use their phone for booking hostels. Several of comfortable balcony areas with good views. Locating it was slightly difficult, might be...

Great building, the interior is done very nicely with lots of cozy corners, a nice and very clean kitchen, great teracces with comfy furniture and trees that spend the needed shade during the day. Shared bathrooms were also clean during our stay. The downpart is that the staff did not seem all that welcoming, it almost felt like their glad...

Firstly, pretty difficult to find. I finally had to ask someone to point me in the right direction. Once I was in the general area not too hard. Steep hill. The terrace has great views, though it was taken over by a group traveling together, who just wanted to talk amongst themselves. Now the cons: 1. When I arrived I...

Having found this old little house in Lonely Planet as Editor's Top Pick, decided to stay a night here.I am very glad that we took the chance to do so as staying at Taksiyarhis shown us a different side of Ayvalik and its people which we would have missed otherwise. This very old traditional Greek house is run by a...

I selected this place because I wanted atmosphere and character, and this place has it. I didn't read the fine print before booking to determine that the rooms all share bathrooms. The arrangement felt like a hostel and if I were younger, as most guests were, this place would be fine. Be prepared to leave your shoes at the front...

Bit awkward to find (thank god we had the guide!) but great little pension! Loved the fact that every room was different (we were a large group so I got to see a few rooms). We had a lovely view over the harbour, the wi-fi was good, the breakfast was yummy and the beds were really comfortable. The owners, although...

I stayed two nights here and had a wonderful time. It was clean, cute, cozy and provided a great base for exploring the area. I used the kitchen for cooking and met somefellow travellers with whom I shared meals. Friendly staff and great service.

If you want an amazing, local experience, this is the place to stay, despite the less-than-awesome beds. The proprietors are awesome, breakfast was delicious and you can take a morning stroll in the area to visit a local tea house and bakery. I highly recommend staying here.

This place can be difficult to find in the old part of Ayvalik, but well worth looking for. Ask for the old Greek church (currently being renovated) with the same name. The pansion is decorated with eclectic souvenirs from the owner's travels and traditional Turkish items; its a fascinating, one of a kind place. There's an attractive kitchen available for...
