We are located on the top of Goreme town, where, from our terraces, you can enjoy the beautiful view. Great for walkers
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
We had a wonderful stay here in the winter season. The location is on the top of the hill, which means you get a better view of the balloons and surrounding town than hotels below you. There is a super sweet dog mom and puppy on the premises, which is part of the reason we chose this hotel over Sultan Cave Suites right next door!
Since we stayed in the off-season, we were able to upgrade our room (for 20 euros per night) to a honeymoon suite complete with a 2-person jacuzzi, sitting area with 2 divans, and sauna. This was a welcome surprise!
We booked our excursions separately, but the hotel was accommodating in letting me call Royal Balloons at 6:30 am when we discovered our initial balloon ride was cancelled. Luckily, we were able to go the next day. The balloons were cancelled 2/4 days we were in Cappadocia which is common for the winter season.
My partner and I enjoy walking, so we were able to take some hikes in the surrounding area without a car. We walked to Rose Valley and the Goreme Open Air Museum (25-30 minutes away). Love Valley is also within walking distance.
One of the best part of this hotel is the breakfast room, which is at the top of the hotel and enclosed completely in glass windows affording you stunning views over your morning tea.

We had doubts whether this place is worth for the stay while comparing the prices with other hotels in Goreme. We knew it immediately as soon as we arrived that it is totally worth it and all the good reviews from other customers are accurate!
It has wonderful views to see all over the city from the rooftop cafe. What has also impressed us was how we were accommodated by all the staff, super friendly & polite! They had limited menu on the day we arrived because of the Covid situation, but they tried hardest to serve us & meet our food preferences. The food we ordered was simple, but also tasted wonderful.
They maintain the health & safety rules very well. There are many spots where you can sanitize your hands & the masks are available to ensure everyone complies with the safe-travel standards during COVID-19. The staffs wear masks at all times while we were being served.
Turkey is open for tourists and definitely safe to travel. Come visit this lovely place!

We stayed for only one night unfortunately but we had an amazing time. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our room was great with an incredible view over Goreme. All the amenities were included. Each room has its own little terrace area and the hotel restaurant has an awesome rooftop terrace perfect for taking glorious pictures. The location is also perfect and the manager is extremely helpful and can arrange anything from balloon rides, airport transfer and private excursions. Would recommend to anyone looking for a picture perfect hoiday in Cappadocia.

We chose the hotel according to the good location and the pictures seen before, and it didn't disappoint us at all. The staff was so kind and helpful, providing information and arranging all what we needed with high quality companies (shuttle from/to the airport, red and green tours, and balloon flight). The hotel is so pretty and the rooms are even better; the included breakfast was really nice in their terrace with amazing views; and the location allows you to walk around Göreme and look for good bars and restaurants.

Location-wise Mithra is one of the best hotels as it is just 3min walk to the center. Waking up at 530 to catch the sunrise with all the hot air balloons up in the sky was like a fairy tale. Our bed was one of the most comfortable beds I have ever been in. I have travelled around the world as a flight attendant in Dubai and the bed in Mithra was just so awesome! The housekeeping staff were all so friendly and attentive to our needs, with a smile on their faces. The hotel had an authentic cave-feel that made a lasting impression on us. However, breakfast is a let down. There's not much option and many times there were a few items that were not being refilled. So we ended up just settling what was left. We stayed for 4nights and we really just go for breakfast because we're hungry and already included but it's not really an experience we are looking forward to. The restaurant staff I believe we're trying their best but hopefully in the future they will be a little bit more cheerful serving. On our first day, We checked in half an hour before 2pm as we have travelled all the way from Bodrum. We were fortunate to have the room ready for us.
Thank you Mithra. Cappadocia is like a dream come true to visit. The people in Turkey were so amazing. Only breakfast could be improved and for future guests take note that check in time is 230pm and check out time is 1130am. We thought check out was 12noon like any other hotel and Reception called us at 1130 to leave. In the end we were rushing to pack our staff away as quickly as possible. Overall, it was a great experience.

Poor service from reception staff. Poor wifi. Questions asked do not get answered properly. Sold a hot air balloon flight through the hotel which was awful and a bad experience. Please avoid booking through them at all costs. They will take your payment and not assist you afterwards. The company they use is SKYWAY balloons. I would recommend using the companies that the neighbouring hotels use. Also very close by, there are stunning cheaper hotels where you can get an entire suite for a better price than the small rooms at Mithra. Overall,if you encounter an issue they will not assist you. And if you look around you can find hotels that are better value for money while offering stunning views from their rooftops too.

Mithra Cave was our second hotel in Goreme, it has a lovely terrace where you can see the balloons. We stayed in the honeymoon cave suite, the vintage designed stairs leading to the bedroom was beautiful, clean with an authentic design to the signature cave vibe.
A little disappointed in one of the staff (tall caucasian guy) in the restaurant as he gave us dirty looks ever since we first arrived, had a bit of attitude, and never provided the free omelette we ordered during breakfast, we patiently waiting until all the guests had finished breakfast and still no omelette. We assumed he was just tired and simply forgot but the attitude was never wiped away even after day 3. This guy needs a break.. and if he doesn't like the job 'leave' .. it's not good to act this way in the tourism industry.
Aside from this, the reception manager and the lovely lady with the great smile was super helpful, as they helped provide us with hotel adapters when ours were broken.

Good: Amazing rooftop view. It is next to Sultan cave hotel therefore shares the same view. The hot air balloon sometimes come near to the hotel but it depends on luck on that day. Hotel staff keeps us inform in the morning if the hot air balloon flight is taking off. Breakfast made by Fatma is amazing, she is at the live cooking station on the rooftop, she comes by to say hi and ask if the breakfast is to my satisfaction, very approachable friendly young lady. it is such a beautiful experience eating breakfast while watching balloons in the air.
To improve: I can't say the rooms are the best. I booked the most economical room and I understand I shouldn't expect much, but it is very close to the live music band of a hotel next door so the noise is really loud. The AC in the room isnt functioning well too. However, the hotel upgraded me to another room further away from live band and the AC is functioning like it supposes to, so it was good at the end.

After spending the first night in the more remote and quiet locale of Uchisar, we spent the last two nights at Mithra Cave and were not disappointed. Our room had the cave hotel vibe. The morning breakfast was huge affair with fresh breads, eggs, a few sweet and sour/spicy dips, a variety of cheeses, veggies and fresh fruit. It was a truly a feast. Our front desk contact, Koray, came directly to our room to field questions about the internet and restaurant recommendations and arranged an airport taxi. It looked like a few other hotels and restaurants had strategic viewing terrace, but we were more than pleased with our choice of Mithra.

There are rooms without a proper window as well as rooms with good window and balcony. You need to ask for the type of room you need. When we went it was slightly off-season and hence could easily change our room the next day.
Hi,
For the hot air balloons they booked with Kapadokya Kaya Balloons.
My room was comfortable big and terrace view very nice. But I can't remember the room type.
I don't really know the balloon company they are associated with but infront of the hotel there is a company that offers balloon ride for a cheaper price. Mithra's classic room are spacious. Most room i think doesn't have view since they have the rooftop for it where you can take pictures of the balloon in the morning.
There are more places to choose from in the Goreme area.
