The grunge designed hotel, is misleading at first, but when you enter it, you realise it’s much larger and better planned than it seems. Extremely friendly staff guides you through the checkin process. The rooms are large and well heated to fight the winters. Good breakfast spread in the dining room which has an actual wood fire furnace, is extremely comfortable and cozy. The topmost level, offers a fabulous view of the town and the landscape beyond. An excellent place to watch the balloons too, against the foreground of the large horse sculpture.

In May of 2022, we finally got to travel outside the USA. We booked 9 days at Ottoman cave Hotel. Even before we arrived we were contacted by hotel to welcome us and offered to help with any questions or bookings prices and ideas. Once arrived we were welcomed and made feel at home I was traveling with my mother she’s a senior and her comfort was extremely important to me. They made everything easy for us and went above and beyond every day.
when it rained right before we had to go out for dinner Zak and the staff procured a delicious delivery of Turkish food for us. I could list so many other things but I don’t want to take too much of your time dear reader.
Muhammad is an excellent manager who cares for his staff and in return they all care for the guest. They also have an owner who’s around all the time and you can see that all they do starts from the top many business owners should take notes on how to create a wonderful environment from him.
A million thanks to housekeeping, breakfast cook, office staff and the maintenance staff all are amazing at what they do.

Myself and my daughter were very lucky to have experienced This part of Turkey and our stay at Ottoman Cave Suites room 204 could not have been better. The staff did everything they could to help us. Mohamed and Zekeriya are a credit to this hotel as they are so helpful and kind. They were able to make recommendations and arrange a private driver for us who took us everywhere we needed to go. They also booked the hot air balloon for us. Breakfast was amazing every morning with different borek made fresh by Leyla who is an amazing cook. The room we stayed in had a television, safe, hairdryer and complimentary toiletries. There were robes and fresh towels. There was a kettle in our room and complimentary teas, coffee sachets that were topped up daily.
We loved our stay and felt like sultans. I do understand that some snobby stuck up people will complain about the grit in the bathroom that falls from the natural cave walls. Or they might moan about damp smell in the bathroom…..they need to wake up and realise it is a cave!!!!! Appreciate this beautiful place, the views, the terraces and the people as you won’t find another place like it . The way the whole place is designed is so quirky but beautiful with things like vintage sewing machines and original Ottoman title deeds scattered around.
We hope to return here again one day !

If i could, i would give this place a zero star.
it is a horrible place to stay. Very poorly maintained. Filthy and poor management.
We saw the pictures and fell for the reviews online and booked it for 2 nights. on our first night of arrival, i was shocked to find how scary and unsafe this place is. No lights around the property and have many steps all around so you are falling left and right. The front desk manager is very rude. has been smoking inside his little cabin so you can barely stand and talk. during the COVID times you expect some decency of wearing mask but he won't and openly smoking on your face. anyways, got to the romantic suite we booked off of the pictures and we were shocked to see in reality, it was filthy and smelled everywhere. The floor was never moped and had dust in every corner. The bathroom towels were stained and never seemed like they ever washed them. The toiletries seemed liked filled with local cheap quality soap, i tired to use hand wash and it was so sticky and smelly that i had to re wash my hand 3-4 times for that smell to go away. Floor had dust and sink was not draining properly. Area rugs had dust and sand so you cant walk in that room without shoes.

We wanted to go on hot air balloon, the front desk guy told us to be ready at 5am. for a pick up, we woke up, got ready and stepped out of that room to front and no one was there. It was scary has heck and whole lodge seemed empty and dark. There was no one at front so we kept waiting. after 15/20 min. we saw another guest who came out and said she has been waiting for pick up as well, there was no one else in whole lodge to help so we 3 kept wondering at 5:20am as what to do. She was able to go through the cards from front desk and fond number to call air balloon company and turns out they were not picking up people till 6:45am. we were so pissed for miss information but most importantly felt so scared that there was not a single soul to help the guest in whole lodge. its very unsafe and un appropriate. even a 1 start place will have some one to attend the guests but not here .. we felt so unsafe that we decided to leave the place right away, packed our bags and luckily we had a car so sat in it and waited for some one to show up so we can hand keys and leave that fifthly horror house.
The manager showed up around 9, we handed him keys and told him we need early check out, he refused to refund us for second night which we though to hell with it, its better to be alive and there is no price for safety and health.
I will never recommend any family to visit this horror house. its dirty, unsafe and un hygienic

I’ll get straight to the point, the main reason to stay here, it has the best rooftop views of the sunrise hot air balloons of any hotel. It has a seating area with pillows, along with a hand made iron horse, and a mock hot air balloon. Thus making it a photographers dream!

We really enjoyed our stay, it’s a cave hotel which oozes charm and character, you definitely feel your back in the old world. Everywhere you look, you have rustic pieces of ‘art’ like donkey carts filled clay jugs, to old wagon wheels on the wall etc

It’s a cave hotel, so not child friendly and slightly impractical. Plenty of steps, lots of stone and concrete which your child won’t fair well if they fall down.

But we survived with a 2.5 year old, ultimately it’s about the experience of staying here.

The staff are excellent, especially the lady who does the breakfast, she was lovely! Breakfast is Turkish, with your cold meats and cheeses, Turkish pastries, eggs etc,

Cons, it’s a cave room, so will retain the heat during the night, so it can get stuffy. Usual impracticalities of staying in a cave hotel in Göreme (no fridge, iron etc). The other downside is the rooftop terrace is looking “weathered” and doesn’t look as fresh as some of the hotel pictures.

We had an incredible stay at this hotel. The Turkish breakfast is traditional and delicious, with loads of options to choose from every day. All of the staff are really kind and so welcoming. They provide access to bottled water at all times, which was great in the heat. We stayed in a cave room which was clean, large and beautiful, the bathroom was also really big and included a double shower which was very convenient. The room had bottled water, tea and coffee which was topped up throughout our stay whenever our room was cleaned. Finally, the outside of the hotel and roof terrace is really pretty and looks exactly like it does in the photos, if not better, in person. It’s a brilliant place to wake up and watch the balloons from as the fly directly above the hotel.

Overall we loved our stay here and would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Goreme.

My boyfriend and I stayed in a suite. Absolutely feel in love with the charm of the cave hotel. Views are prime for your pictures and memories of what you come to cappadocia for... balloon sunrise!
Morning breakfast was the greatest with the sweet woman who makes your eggs to order. The homemade pastries are reminiscent of homemade love.
Will be coming back again ❤

Stayed here for a week with my partner and we were both thrilled with the place. The suite was comfortable and warm, the bathroom spacious. The breakfast was buffet style and there was always a lot to choose from. The kitchen staff are excellent and helpful. They even made menemen for me twice when asked and it was excellent. The reception staff gave us very good restaurant recommendations and organised airport transfers for me and helped my partner get to another bus stop in a different town due to the lack of buses. It's just a couple of minutes' walk to the cafes and restaurants, too, which was incredibly convenient. If you stay here, you won't be disappointed.

We decided to stay in a cave hotel for the full Cappadocia experience and have no regrets. Note though that the cave suites are not in or near any cave that I could see, just cave style. But the level of detail and design is extensive and the finish of the walls is similar to the cave dwellinga we visited in the area. The room has everything you need but still it is a handmade design and quite rustic with some items rather basic so I'm not sure I'd want to stay there for an extended visit. The included breakfast buffet was all cold items but some nice options and they have a small kitchen where you can request eggs. Location is great, very central and staff is friendly and helpful. Overall a good choice and fun experience

Such friendly spoken staff and were great help when our flights got delayed and then changed to a different airport (due to stormy weather at Nevsehir). They reshuffled the transportation promptly at 1am and got us to the hotel safely.. The facilties in the room were great and the rooftop terrace has one of the amazing viewpoints especially when the hot air ballons are rising. The breakfast in the morning was delicious! Highly recommended! Thanks Ottoman Cave Suites!!

No, the breakfast starts I believe at 8am, and the balloons usually start flight around 5-6am and last for about an hour or so. Also the breakfast area is enclosed and does not have a view of the skyline to see the balloons. You must be on the rooftop to see the balloons.

You can hop on a shuttle from the airport for 40 liras. Definitely a lot more affordable than taxi (200 liras). We took the shuttle on the return trip to airport. We bought our tickets for the airport shuttle at one of travel agencies located downtown. They will pickup from your hotel. Very convenient and comfortable.

Hello...we loved the hotel..the location was perfect. As for all the tours we used...a tour company...search goreme. Use the company with that name We dealt with Jodie Redding...she was very helpful and spoke English. I believe the website has all the prices. We also used them for our airport transfer. Have a great trip!!
