This is how 'boutique' hotels should be: beautifully designed, close attention to detail, and excellent staff from the owners, Halil and his wife, downwards. The waiting staff are well-trained and the buffet dinner at the hotel was excellent value. The hotel is up on a hillside about five to ten minute's quite steep walk from the centre of town. If...

Can I rave more about the food? You MUST dine here! The pot kebab is the original pot kebab (they crack open a ceramic pot which has been cooking your meat for 2 hours) and buffet selection is mouth watering! This hotel is uniquely situated in a revamped site. Staff are really friendly and helpful. The only tip I would...

I would just like to thank Halil, Brigitte, Erdem and Yasin. You made our stay in Urgup, Cappadocia, a once-in-a-lifetime experience with your helpfulness, beautiful hotel, fantastic food and compassion. The atmosphere is so relaxed and feels so homely that we could easily stay forever. Well done on your excellent service and authentic décor.

We stayed for two nights in a deluxe cave room, and were delighted with our choice of hotel. Urgup is a much nicer base to explore Cappadocia than nearby Goreme which we found rather tacky. The owner welcomed us with a complimentary drink, and a very good overview of all our sightseeing options. We never felt under any pressure to...

Our flight landed very early and our airport transfer picked us up and we arrived at the hotel at breakfast. Our room had not been vacated yet so we were offered breakfast after which we walked into town to look around. When we got back our room was not quite ready so we were upgraded to a magnificent suite. I...

We spent three days in Urgup and saw many of the local attractions. The hotel upgraded us for free to the king suite which is gorgeous. The service is excellent and helpful and they organise whatever tours you want to participate in. Breakfast is delicious. The hotel has renovated many of the rooms and the original arches that have been...

This was probably the best hotel i have stayed in terms of service. I have stayed in many 5 star properties (Marriott, Sheraton, Hyatt) but this one surpasses all. Excellent service and wonderful breakfast and dinner. I have to personally thank Yasin (Manager) and Ahmet who were outstanding and made sure we were taken care of. Yasin in particular talked...

A good place to stay with few negative points. Gives you an antique atmosphere, architecture, furniture etc. but missing some modernization points. Negative points are definitely not just for this hotel but for this destination, lots of stones and dust. Whoever doesn't like stones and dust, then better to choose some other destination )) I highly recommend to those who...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Selcuklu Evi is a fine example of Seljuk architecture. This antique house has been restored by hand. The local craftsmen of Urgup spent two years to complete this restoration. Each block was carried from the local area and then manually sculpted and leveled before becoming part of Selcuklu Evi. Situated in a small lane surrounded by local homes and gardens this area has panoramic views of rock hewn caves and the old village of Urgup. ... more   less
