I stayed here over Christmas while playing in a chess tournament in Al Ain and got a friendly welcome from Daria at reception. It was my second visit and while the hotel is nice with good service, it's getting a bit worn out and needs to be renovated. The housekeeper Pradip was very helpful getting me anything I needed for my room.
Also, the swimming pool is not an Olympic pool as they claim, an Olympic pool is 50 metres long and their pool is 33 metres long. The good thing is that no children are allowed in it, it's divided into lanes so you can have a good swim from 8am to 9.30pm and that's the main reason I chose the Danat. There are two gyms and they have enough equipment for a decent workout.
The Italian restaurant Luce where I had dinner last time was very good and so was the Indian restaurant Tanjore is excellent. I don't like spicy food and everything on their menu seemed to be spicy but they made mild food for me. The pub McGettigans allows smoking inside and Shooters bar next to it also allows smoking. It would be nice if one of them could be non-smoking.
There's another reason to stay there too - the alcohol shop is just behind the hotel!

We stayed 6 nights at this hotel for a visit to family. Initially attracted by the pools we found out the day before that they were all closed, apparently due to severe storms meaning they required a month of maintenance - I guess that was out of their control but it was a shame. They did contact us the day before and offer a refund but with one days notice and a lot of us to accommodate that wasn’t enough time for us to reorganise.
Generally the hotel rooms are spacious but a little outdated and could do with some upgrading. The beds were really comfortable so we slept really well. We found housekeeping a bit unreliable - one day only one hand towel, another day only one bath towel (that said the towels were great quality and seemed new), another day no housekeeping until 8pm!! On our first night it was clear some dusting was required but by day 2 that had been addressed and the room was well kept from that point onward. Staff were all pleasant and helpful. Restaurent choice and food quality were good. All in all a perfectly acceptable, comfortable stay but nothing to get too excited about, perhaps if the pools had been available it might have been a different experience.

Our stay here was part of a packaged tour. Beautiful resort & grounds. Many amenities to keep you entertained specially for families. Olympic size swimming pool. Indoor/outdoor gym. Professional & cordial staff.
Fantastic buffet both breakfast & dinner. Most memorable to me is the incredible spread & selection of middle eastern desserts & juice bar. All these after dinner sugar-high requires a nice hot cup of something to flush it down with. We all ordered tea but unbeknownst, they charged us $29 "per person" for cup of tea (ridiculous rip off for hot water & a tea bag)!!! Needless to say, big shock surprise to get that bill afterwards. Not even Starbucks charges that on their most expensive offering. Lessons learned: just eat what is served & don't order anything else from the menu.
Nice fancy hotel but lacking in maintenance: in our spacious huge bedroom with comfy beds & exquisite bathroom, tub was clogged, shower was moldy, carpet/many stains need to be shampooed, door to balcony was broken. I think our room needed to be refreshed or in need of renovation, but desperately needed attention in cleaning and maintenance. Either that or short staffed.

We had a family getaway for 1 night , booked 2 rooms. As many mentioned hotel is really old, but it wasn't my concern, my issue was cleanliness and maintenance. First we've checked- in in opposite rooms, but after one room was smelling bad, they moved us to another rooms next to each other. Both rooms were very dirty, like literally I feel housekeeping just change sheets and go, dust and dirt not only in corners but just everywhere. As I said in my other hotel review i don't go to hotels to look for negative side of it or to check, but just to enjoy my time with family. I honestly think that even if hotel is old, not luxury but clean and maintained well people will love it. Regarding playing area for kids- they have designated area and swimming pool for kids, I would say not bad but again I saw broken glasses (outside of playing area ) from ground light. The balcony not safe if you have a toddler, the bars of balcony wide and child can easily go between, so extra care need in this area (and we had broken glass even in balcony area). Breakfast was OK, they have cooking station and variety of food is fine. And they don't offer valet service (5 star hotel), we had to park our car in parking area by our self (which is not an issue).

The staffs were clueless probably they are not capable of handling large group of people. The food was tasteless very limited option. Better carry your own water with you. They will provide only a small bottle of water complimentary so if you want to hydrated better carry your own water.
Poor room service it takes several phone calls for them to attend.
Rooms were cleaned and have the basic facilities.

Furious with Danat Al Ain Resort today. Telephoned yesterday to ask if they were open for lunch at McGettigans as Michael and I wanted to take his grandparents out to lunch. Keeping in mind they are in their 70’s and my mum is disabled and can really only get around on an electric mobility scooter. We arrived at the front of the hotel, it was all sealed off with barriers so we parked in car park and took scooter out and got mum in it. Also keeping in mind it was over 45 degrees centigrade today. As we walked and mum scootered up to hotel a security guard told us the front of the hotel was closed, we explained we had a booking at McGettigans and he said no problem but you cannot enter through the front entrance you can drive to the back entrance park there and enter from that location. We explained getting the scooter and my mum in and out of the car was very time consuming and asked why there was no notices/ signs directing customers of this and why we were not given this info when we booked. He shrugged and said I’m sorry there is nothing I can do but if you go to the back entrance you will be able to access the restaurant/ pub. He watched my mum in her mobility scooter then just walked away. So my elderly parents One on a scooter decided to walk/ scooter round to the back in nearly 50 degrees heat. We got around to the back only to be told that the lift had been closed due to covid restrictions and the only way up was via a spiral staircase, which was impossible. So after nearly half an hour in the heat my parents in their 70’s and my mum who has MS had no choice but to leave. Having been members of this hotel club and having visited for years I am furious that a security guard would tell an elderly disabled person on a mobility scooter to travel to the back of the hotel in extreme heat knowing the elevator was closed due to covid. What a joke I will never visit this hotel again and I suggest if you have a disability neither do you. This whole episode was shocking. Disgusting!!!

No towels available had to wait 2 hours, food we ordered a pizza after 1 hour of waiting the wrong pizza came, sent is back again after 30 min minutes the wrong pizza came, It seems the chefs do not know the menu !! this is really shame as it is a 5* star hotel but it does not have the service of a 5*

This is an odd review because we didn’t actually stay here. We have stayed before and really enjoyed it, so planned to overnight here whilst our kids played in a local sports tournament on the Friday and Saturday. We booked a non-refundable room well in advance, before Covid 19 was heard of. When the tournament was cancelled due to the virus we called the Danat team to see if we could get a refund. The staff member we spoke to was very kind, helpful and understanding and I’m happy to say we received a full refund. Obviously Danat Al Ain has now earned our loyalty as customers and we look forward to staying with them when the world returns to normal. Thank you.

It is not a 5 Star hotel because the service is an 1 Star. The sanitariness is an 1 Star. Breakfast is an 1 Star. Facility’s are 1 Star and the rooms are an 1 Star. The villas was very old and dirty it smelled like a bar with smoke. The bathroom was very dirty and old (pictures) after 3 times complain they didn’t change anything. The water tap was broken and they fixed after 2 days. We wait for 1 kidsbed 45min and there was no extra blanket available. In a 5 Star hotel is not usual to pay for your coffee at the breakfast. (pictures). Tea serving is like in a hostel (pictures) It was a very bad experience and I will never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great property, spacious, very green and serene, soft water, the Indian restaurant called Tanjore inside Danat serves an amazing food, being Indian I can the Indian food in this place tastes better than the Abu Dhabi Indian restaurants. Very authentic food. Danat service, pool bar services, pool area and over all the walk in their natural landscapes with loads of greenery around is a wonderful experience.
