When we arrived, we thought it was the best hotel setup we'd had in the country. We were greeted by a woman who introduced herself as the co-owner, and escorted to our room. A double bed in the center with a twin in each side, up against the wall-perfect for my two tossing and turning young children. There was a...

Perfect central location in Colonia. Rooms were small but clean. Good breakfast with rolls, cereal, yogurt, fruit, juice, coffee, etc. Free wifi. Staff was friendly and helpful. Very safe and well-run. We definitely recommend.

Perfect location so close to the ferry and bus termial. It was charming little hotel with good breakfast and friendly staff. What I didn't like was the noise from the street, extremely strong cleaning detergent odor in the room (and couldn't leave the window open for fresh air because mosquitos were coming in due to the absence of the mosquito...

We found this hotel to be a special place. Our triple room was larger with a nice bathroom. It was nicely appointed. The front desk help were all friendly and helpful. We sat out on the back courtyard each night. The continental breakfast was good. The location is close to all tourist sights. I would certainly stay here again.

Is a sweet, little hotel. Hotel is very personal. Check in was fast and efficient. Rooms ar small-ish but absolutely functional. They have an open light spot in the bathroom (is covered with a mesh). But some ants find their way in. Other wise it is absolutely clean. Breakfast is served personally and is fruits, yogurt, bread, dulce de leche...

Only 2 nights in wet, windy weather. The hotel was warm and our room 202 was spacious and suitable for a family of 4. Good breakfast and welcoming staff. Excellent location from the ferry and very good for the price.

The reviews were kind of mixed for this hotel, but I was pleasantly suprised. Hotel Rivera is a very neat little small hotel. It is really just a few steps away straight up from the ferry terminal. Service is very friendly. The rooms are indeed quite small, but sufficiently comfortable. Lots of outlets, WIFI working reasonable. The contintental breakfast is...

We weren't expecting to stay in Uruguay, but we lost the last boat on our way to Buenos Aires, so we had to go look for a place to stay. Let me tell you, if we knew about this place I think we would have planned to stay here for the night. Amazing beautiful place, great atmosphere and the people...

Had a problem with my bank and staff were very helpful in allowing me to use telephone for hours. Patient and understanding. Nice, quiet and lovely patio to sit in. Close to port and bus station, down the street from the main drag.

“We followed other advice here and in booking.com and asked for a room upstairs and in the back (there are 3 of them). Think it was the best choice! Do make it explicit in your reservation, as then they assign your room as 'do not move this reservation'. If you aren't clear, they may change you for other people that explicitly request this room.”
