I stayed at this hotel twice during my two week visit to Japan in Novemebr of 2008 at the beginning and end of my trip and found the staff courteous and kind and treated me almost as a family member which was very nice as this was my first time in Japan and I was also traveling solo the hotel...

This is our second time returning to Nagoya Sofitel. I chose this hotel because it is very convenient from the rail station, just 5 mins walk from "Sakura dori" exit from the station. If unsure, enquire at the tourist info centre, they have english speaking staff and free maps. The hotel is very easy to find. The size of the...

We arrived in Nagoya on a wet rainy day. Eventhough the hotel was located near the JR station we took a cab to the hotel. We arrived at about 11am but were not allowed to check in until 2pm. We borrowed umbrellas from reception and walked to the JR station where there are departmental stores and many restaurants. Returned to...

We were a family of four adults and we stayed one night in two interconnecting rooms. Each room has two (largish) single beds, a bathroom with separate vanity area and a large desk/ work area. There is an interconnecting door between the two rooms just past the main entry door. It is really close to Nagoya train station so access...

This hotel was very conveniently located to the station, though we took a taxi on arrival for convenience. (Do have the name of any hotel in Japan written in Japanese, because cab drivers rarely seem to know much English outside Tokyo. ) The front office staff couldn't have been nicer, booking us at two different restaurants - both from Lonely...

This sofitel does not reach the standard of Sofitels we were staying at before but it has some charme. Ugly from outside it offers some warm moments inside. Reception stuff is a bit cold and unfriendly. Rooms are well equipped but in need of a little renovation. The breakfast room was almost empty when we were there; the food and...

Location: Good location, near to the main station of Nagoya, convenient for all the transportation including the Shinkansen trains. Nearby the hotel is the entrance to the metro station, but you need to know it is there before you know it. Walking distance to some attractions such as the Noritake gardens and some temples. Would recommend going for a nice...

The Softel was a great find. Just 2-1/2 blocks easy walk from the train station. Great desk staff that spoke some English. Beautiful rooms...on the small side, which is typical japanese, but cozy and well-appointed. Internet available for $8 (1000yen). The night desk man recommended a great restaurant around the corner called ZaZa, which was our first traditional Japanese meal...

Nice hotel just a few minutes walk from the JR Nagoya train station. The hotel is modern and very clean. The staff was very nice and can speak several languages. I felt very safe while walking around late at night near the hotel. Internet was affordable (much cheaper than New York City). Rooms were very quiet, clean and up to...
